Electronic Arts today announced that TimeSplitters: Future Perfect is now available for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube. The game was developed by UK studio Free Radical Design, developer of the previous TimeSplitters games and Second Sight.

The first-person shooter is the third in the series and continues the time-traveling action of its previous editions. As the game's hero, Cortez, gamers will travel through various centuries, from the year 1914 to 2243, in order to stop the robotic TimeSplitters from ending humanity.

Future Perfect features a split-screen cooperative campaign mode, as well as 16-player Xbox Live and eight-player PlayStation 2 online battles in various game modes that include deathmatch, capture the bag, and thief. Gamers can customize their characters by choosing from 150 skins, and they will be able to blast opponents with 40 different weapons and vehicles from various eras. A mapmaking tool gives gamers the opportunity to create new levels and share them online.

TimeSplitters: Future Perfect is rated M for Mature and retails for $49.99. For more information on the game, head over to GameSpot's previous coverage, or read the game's full review, which will be posted today.
