Try to watch this new footage for Tony Hawk's Shred Session without thinking about THPS2

Tony Hawk is now an endless runner.

If you're of a certain age, you'll probably have a special place in your heart reserved for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2. You might also feel a pain in your chest when watching footage of Tony Hawk's Shred Session, a new free-to-play mobile game which features the legendary skater doing his best Temple Run impression.

Still, maybe there's room on your phone for a skateboard-themed endless runner. There's two modes to pick from: Survival has you focusing on performing tricks to keep your score alive for as long as possible, and Shred Sessions has you focusing on specific objectives.

There will be five different locations and six skaters included at launch, according to a hands-on report from TouchArcade, and there's two in-game currencies with the possibility of supplementing one of them with real money. More content is also said to be arriving with post-launch updates.

Tony Hawk's Shred Session is currently readying itself for a soft-launch in the next few weeks, ahead of a general release this summer. You can also watch Hawk himself demonstrate the game in a new video (above).
