Watch Trailer for Evolve's Next DLC Character, Out Now
Say hello to Emet.
2K Games and Turtle Rock Studios today launched a new DLC character for monster-hunting game Evolve.
Emet is a "repurposed medical drone made ready for battle." A medic class hunter, the character is available to buy alone for $5 or through Evolve's $25 Hunting Season 2 pass. This also includes a new monster (Gorgon) and more heroes in the form of Lennox and Jack. One further support class hunter will arrive in Evolve before March 31, 2016, Turtle Rock confirmed. Here's a quick breakdown of some of Emet's weapons and gadgets, as compiled by Turtle Rock.
- The Replay Cannon – fires an explosive dart that tags a target and rapidly fires several homing missiles at it;
- Healing Buoys – can be deployed in the field to regenerate health for nearby allies. When Emet uses his medic Heal Burst, a more powerful burst erupts from the buoys;
- The Respawn Beacon – teleports Hunters directly from the dropship, reducing respawn times to a mere 30 seconds.
You won't have to pay to get more Evolve content soon, however, as Turtle Rock is also adding two free characters to the game "in the coming weeks." These are Tech Sergeant Hank, Wasteland Maggie, and a new version of Daisy that does damage to monsters with a flamethrower backpack..
Full details about Emet and the character variants are available here on Evolve's blog. You'll also find the latest patch notes on the blog.
If you're just getting into Evolve now, 2K recently released an Evolve: Ultimate Edition that comes with the base game and expansions including Monster Expansion Pack, Hunting Season 1, and Hunting Season 2.
