Play it more, Love it more

User Rating: 8.5 | Burnout Paradise PS3
***Graphics***
+Solid and detailed

***Sound***
+Traffic, wind, environment sounds good
+Different cars sound different
-Crashes (especially in slow-mo) sound canned

***Gameplay***
+Controls that focus on playability/results rather than realism
+Game mechanics that focus on the awesomeness of wanton destruction and crazy driving
+Lots of unlock-able cars and a great variety of events
+Events are located in an open-world environment
-Slow-mo crashing used to incorporated "controlled" crashes and explosions (know as after-touch) now they do nothing but highlight the failings of the games audio and rub in your failure.
-"Driveaway" events are a bad idea because they represent an instance in which you shouldn't have crashed
-Camera changes during jumps and crashes can make car-control unnecessarily difficult

***Multiplayer***
Can't say much; haven't played extensively but I will say that it's tough to be new and you better unlock some better cars before you dive in. Also, having a good connection is extremely important.

The most difficult part of this game is getting used to navigating the city during events. You'll like it more after you start to recognize roads and landmarks.

The main reasons I gave this game 8.5 instead of 9.0:
-One of the Trophies *requires you to buy a camera for your PS3*
-Sometimes collision seems too sensitive (causing crashes which shouldn't occur)
-I really miss after-touch from Burnout Revenge. Without it, crashing during a race is purely a letdown and not a potentially gleeful moment
-There is no split-screen option

In closing, I will say that I'm glad I bought this game and you'll probably love it too. Check it out if you want some arcade-style racing with an emphasis on aggression.
