Modern Warfare 2 is, simply put, one of the best shooters on the market.
I'll be honest, I was disappointed at the beginning, my favorite part of Modern Warfare 3, survival mode, was not in this game, and the first mission, after the tutorial, was a weird snap into action immediately. After playing the first few levels of the campaign, I was hooked.
The story didn't, and still doesn't make much sense to me. All I got out of it was that we had to kill some Russian guy and later someone else (I would say who, but I'm trying to keep it spoiler free). Other than that, I just used it as an excuse to shoot crap. The levels didn't really have many "Holy Crap!" moments, but it did have some good thrills and one "Holy Crap!" moment that actually made me more pissed off than happy.
The action of the game is absolutely awesome, everything worked so smoothly, and action was always intense. The stealth portions weren't that great, but they were still a lot of fun.
The biggest complaint I have with the game is that it's short, it took me about 6 hours to complete, which felt okay, but there should have been more. Other than that I was pretty happy with how the game turned out.
I would review Special Ops and Multiplayer, but special ops was a disappointment and I didn't have a friend to play it with, so I just kind of avoided that part. And I don't support Xbox Live because I can just play all my online games for free on PSN.
Overall it was a fun game with probably excellent Multi-player. If you're looking at shooters that aren't going to break the bank, this is a good one to look for. 9/10
