Amazing platforming with meaningful narrative

User Rating: 9 | Celeste NS

Good

- the platforming is very basic, but the level designs makes it challenging.

- there's a unique theme in each level

- the best story I've seen in any platformer. It actually has a lesson to be learned, and allowed me to relate to Madaline.

- the dialogue is well written

- the obstacle designs were creative, and made the platforming fun and fresh throughout the game.

- strawberries added extra challenge, but not necessary. They give replay value for those who want to go back to the game. It also affects the narrative a bit, which was neat.

- being able to restart immediately on the same screen, made the gameplay virtually not frustrating at all. This is how almost all platformers should be.

Bad

- the full screen art doesn't match with the dialogue avatars. It's not a big deal, but it's a little weird. Also, the full screen art of the characters looked like it's commission work from someone on Deviant Art. It looks amateurish.
