A solid MMO, but has some flaws

User Rating: 7.5 | DC Universe Online PS3
The world of DC houses many unique heroes and villains such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luther, Circe, and Joker (mentors of the game.) What would it be like for you to be the next legend amongst these characters? How would you act, what powers would you use, and what weapons would you use?

Story 7/10
The story is pretty interesting, but then again that is not really what we are here for. Your character works to become the next bigshot legend as either a hero or a villain. Fighting the known heroes and villains as well as the big baddie Brainiac who wants to conquer the world.

Character Creation 8/10
The character creator like other hero MMO creators is incredibly fun to design your character the way you want them to be designed. From choosing your height, their posture, powers, weapons, and costumes. Unfortunatly, the selection of costumes lacks compared to City of Heroes and Champions Online, but that doesn't mean that it is bad. Creating a character is a joy and you can earn costumes for that character while you level them up.

Weapons and Powers 8/10
While creating your character you can give them a specific power and weapon to make them unique. You can wield a variety of weapons such as one handed weapons, staves, martial arts, brawling, two handed weapons, rifles, pistols, duel wielding, shields, hand blasters, bows, etc... As for powers you can use light, fire, ice, earth, gagets, nature, lightning, mental, and sorcerery. Each to their own they are all unique, but there are a few flaws... You can't really tell which would be a DPS power because all are controls and defenses... Plus powers lack variety and there should be more of a selection. As for weapons there are a lot of choices, but I wish there were more options to choose from and there really is no casting weapon other than hand blasters and that doesn't feel too caster like.

PvE 8/10
Questing is questing and feels normal, but after a few quests you can take on big bosses on your own and take part in epic battles. Not much to really say. There are dungeons and raids which are not really challenging, but it feels normal.

PvP 7/10
For awhile PvP really lacked. Sure you had open world pvp, but sometimes it would be nice to have a battleground and that is where legends was supposed to come in... Sadly it was a game where you chose the heroes like super man and batman to fight against eachother... I want to use my hero... not the premades ones. Home turf added in bases where you could raid other bases and fight other people.

Visuals 8.5/10
Visuals look nice and plays well

Environments 8/10
The environments look nice, but there are only 2 cities to play in which are Metropolis and Gothom and that is it...

Playability 9/10
You can play through many times like other MMOs and still have fun. You can PvE, PvP, explore, race, craft, and find collectibles to learn about the world.

overall 7.5/10
It is a solid MMO and it is worth a go. It is an interesting action MMO, but it fell behind City of Heroes, but CoH died and now you can go between this or Champions... Champions is a train wreck.
