Come on 4... Not a 10 Either.

I played the Beta to the level cap. There were elements that are very similar to other MMO's but it had a couple of things I found engaging. First of all there is plenty of content for people who solo. I have to because I just do not play at regular times and most of my friends just cant wait around for me. That is why Solo content is important for me. Next, there are several quests that result in you battling a boss out in the streets of Metropolis or Gothem and you may not be able to defeat it by yourself. If you free the NPC prisioners they help you.. That was cool. Also, if you are passing by you can jump in and help someone. Everybody that helps gets credit for the quest if you have taken it. There were quite a few things that were not available during Beta due to the level cap. It must have been interesting. I pre-ordered it after reaching the level cap. The selection of powers / skills / equipment is not as deep as say... Rift.. which I also played but sometimes you just get tired of a thousand different selections and an online encyclopedia to figure out what you need to select. They tried to make DC Universe more engaging by providing a large number of mouse click combos to create a more realistic battle sequence. Sort of works but there are way to many mouse click combos to remember so you are limited by your memory. Also, when Superman or Batman joins you at the end of a quest to help with the bad guy. That is pretty darn cool. Last but certainly not least and maybe why I like it as much as I do. The content is expansive. Think about it .. Years of DC Comics and Television to use for the storylines. I would be on a quest and suddenly realize, HEY... I have seen this before in a TV Show or Comic Book. If you are a DC Comic fan you will love it. If you are not then you might find yourself buying the comics to follow the storyline more extensively. Very nice use of the content. And there are many years of it to choose from. Get the standard version and play it until you are tired of it but you can always come back later and pick it back up to get a quick story out of the game.
