A fantastic reboot to an originally decent series.

User Rating: 8.5 | Dead to Rights: Retribution PS3
Dead to Rights is not known for being a great game series, perhaps because in the original two games, the controls were off and it didn't feel like a great experience as it should have. With Dead to Rights: Retribution, this changes things by making the control scheme feel right, smoother gameplay, slick graphics and animation and a much more mature tone.

Presentation: The prologue ends up being the middle of the game, kinda like Hitman: Contracts, you don't really know how he got to that point until later in the game but it doesn't really matter because you're having such a good time.

Gameplay: An overall great single-player experience. The controls are slick and responsive. The bullet-time is cool and watching as heads splatter in slow-motion are cool. It's like watching a violent film or playing Max Payne with a dog.

Graphics: While not amazing, they definitely look really good, especially compared to other game reboots. It's extremely bloody and looks good but there are some clipping issues, especially when you see blood all over parts a chain-link fence in spots it shouldn't be.

Sound: The voice acting is believable and your father is captured by a great voice actor. Jack sounds like the bad [dude] you want him to sound like but listening to Shadow bark can get kind of annoying, especially when he's just looking at a wall.

Lasting Appeal: It's not a long game but it's not short either. There's no multiplayer, though it would have been cool if there was. There's collectibles and trophies to achieve and DLC to prolong the appeal with an extra chapter and a Horde mode style game to play as well.
