I got this game in bundle when I bought the Xbox One. It was two days before the game was going to be released and I bought the bundle for a reasonable price. The game is good even after eight months of playing it, the soundtrack is incredible, the visuals look spectacular, the game is addicting, but the game is just missing a good story or just a story in general. Just a reminder, this was from Bungie, the developers of the Halo games with their last installment being Halo: Reach, before 343 Industries taking over.
The game's story can be summed up like this:
We bought you back from the dead, kill aliens, SHADDAP! - Angry Joe
The story is not interesting. There's no character development, intrigue nor drama. But when the story started to take over, it felt like it would continue for the upcoming DLC's. There is mystery a.k.a lore, and there's LOTS of it. And when I finished the story (or the first part of it), I was rewarded with a rare LVL16 pulse rifle. Yay?
But what about the game? The game is good! The gun-play is great, the soundtrack is incredible, the visuals look spectacular and it's an addictive game overall. You'll be on Earth, the moon, Mars, Venus and Mercury (sometimes, If you're into PVP). There are strikes to do with two other people which are co-operative missions, raids to do with five other people which are co-operative missions that have better rewards with no matchmaking (Gjallarhorn required), and then there's the PVP which I'd like to call Shotgunville. Or Felwinter's Village. Invectived? Still, the players who play PVP with no skill whatsoever, only use shotguns for the most part. Not primaries, sniper rifles or fusion rifles nor heavy weapons, just shotguns.
The game can be a grindfest. Or it will be a grindfest. Personally, I've spent over 370+ hours on the game, done three Iron Banners, and I haven't done any raids, because of the fact that I don't have the Gjallarhorn. And, where's the trading? I could spend like 50 strange coins just to trade them for the Gjallarhorn. And yes, there's no trading in this MMO.
