Positives:
- Gameplay is relatively varied across the short length.
- Fun co-op gameplay adds to the overall value.
- Mostly interesting level design.
- It's cool how much they pulled from the "Toy Story" mythos in this one.
- Visual design is fitting as a "Toy Story" game.
- Good voice work.
- Toy Box. That's it, that's the tweet. Toy Box mode makes this entire game.
Negatives:
- Gameplay can feel a touch shallow at points.
- It really starts to drag in some of the later levels.
- The camera can be quite finicky at times.
Consensus: While licensed games can typically be a crapshoot, "Toy Story 3: The Video Game" is actually quite a fun time. The story mode has some nice "Toy Story" charm to it, and the Toy Box mode remains a wildly fun and inventive mode that basically feels like the best part of the package. It might not reach quite as high as "Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue," but on its own merits, this is a solid game. Given its especially cheap price now, it's worth giving a shot.
