Doom was for many years the best and one of very few FPS games. I played it on SNES, strafing using R and L, and it wasn't such a big deal, since at this point shooters didn't require for you to aim up and down, we just shot straight. This game surely deserves respect, a whole generation would grow up playing it and nobody forgot it.
