One of the best RPGs in recent years

User Rating: 8 | Dragon Age: Inquisition PS4

Dragon Age Inquisition is a real RPG, a game full of memorable moments and hard decisions to make. The world is massive and looks amazing. You can easily be lost, in a good way.

While it's an amazing game, there are some minor negative aspects. To give an example, some simple actions, like consulting the in game 'wiki' (codex), can be a pain in the a**. As a consequence, this amazing world full of stories and politic conspiracies, may sound more complex than it actually is, especially for new comers in the series.

Pros:

Incredibly deep game

Massive world with lots of open areas (very few invisible walls)

Great story, lore and characters

Very good graphics and art direction

Seamless transition between in and outdoors

Addicting multiplayer

Cons:

Everything is too schematic ('you picked 1 out of 10 herbs' kind of linearity). Imprevisibility is what makes exploration in other RPGs, like Elder Scrolls, more addicting,

The scan system in many recent games kills the immersion. At certain point, all you do is press constantly the scan button hoping for the items to pop up. Again, Bethesda games make you actually explore the environments without the need for unnatural tricks.

Unnecessary complex codex (descriptions, and the related pics, should be more direct and explanatory)

No day/night cycle.
