Goes from 0-60 way too fast.
The career mode offers some good customization (including nickname and intro music). You're shown the ropes by El Guapo himself (Bas) and for the first dozen of so fights I had a blast doing the minigames to improve my fighter's abilities. However it went from fun to frustrating in the span of a few fights. Sure at first you're TKOing like a natural but then the game gets technical and you'll find yourself in endless clinches and on your back just trying to get out of bad spots. I practiced, and improved my fighter's stats for clinches and the ground game- no use.
My first loss was done in three hits- yikes! You can go ahead and say that I haven't truly learned the game, but the point is, again, it went from being fun to incredibly frustrating. In my opinion a learning curve like that is too sharp, you have to ease players into it.
I'm still looking forward to the next one.
