Old School RPG that has had a makeover

This game is simple, you level your characters up by killing monsters, you gain money from killing said monsters, then you buy new equipment. there are no stupid over power super move that wipe out any enemy in one hit and there are no invincible super creatures in this game, you have various abilities and magic's to choose from. the only bad things about the game is the story is linear there are no other mission or quests, the graphics are bad, but who cares because the storyline is good, the characters are not annoying, and the length of the game is impressive,
final fantasy the after years is also good, not as lengthy as final fantasy 4 itself but still long, the characters are still the same with a few new and familiar characters that have been seen through out final fantasy 4. the story is quit enthralling once you get into it. the game becomes very addictive.
