It seems like Squaresoft, or should I say Square Enix have lost their old SNES touch when they moved to the PSX, Not that it's necessarily a bad thing. Unlike Final Fantasy 4, 5 and 6, you finally see a special kind of airplane instead of the traditional airship. Same with Final Fantasy 8. Sure, people liked all the sci-fi, but Square wanted to bring that old SNES touch back in Final Fantasy IX for the PSX. The music style, the atmosphere, the people, the talk, everything has that good Final Fantasy IV nostalgia feel, only better. The lovable characters will make you smile while the beautiful ending will make you cry, both because it's emotional and because you're sad to finish such a master piece. So, behold, the ultimate Final Fantasy is here.
