This is simply my 2nd favorite video game of all time. The story is amazing, the characters are well developed, etc :)

Just play it and see. Final Fantasy 7 is overrated to no end but the 8th game is fairly underrated. FF8 added a very unique "Junction System." Basically this Junction system allowed you to "Junction" magic to your Stats (Such as STR, VIT, HP, etc.) in order to raise them. You can hold 100 of each magic spell (minus one exception). For example if Squall's (Main character) strength is 50 and I junction Ultima (Rare spell FYI) to it my strength will increase by a lot (Somewhere in the 100s?) Different spells do different things to each stat, etc. Way too much text is needed to explain the whole thing. But i assure you the system is unique indeed. Of course you fight enemies in the same way you did in the previous 7 games, as you fight enemies you level up and the more you level up the stronger your characters get (Raising stats)

*slight spoilers here* You can play as 6 characters in the game (as you unlock them throughout the story) and each of them have their own fighting style. Each character has their own "Limit Break" which is their special attack. Limit breaks happen in two ways: When a characters health is low (the numbers will appear yellow), or by using the spell "Aura" (which is a very rare spell).
The game features 4 discs which makes this game quite a long one. However if you know what you're doing and do it right then you could beat this game in about 2 weeks (depends on how much you play honestly) If you're a newcomer then it could take you quite a while to get everything. The game features upgradable weapons, multiple side-quests and its just a HUGE game!

FYI: This game is like 50/50 with fans of the series. Im one of the people who love this game. Hopefully you'll love this game the same way I do.
