And what are you looking forward to playing? So far I'm enjoying Skyrim / Kingdoms Of Amalur and keeping an eye on Mass Effect 3 and Dragon's Dogma.

My favorite rpgs from this gen have been demons souls and dark souls. Skyrim was alright and i'll be picking up amalur in the next couple days. I feel like we are lacking rpgs this gen. Why couldn't rpgs be the dominant genre instead of fps' we would have all types of clones of our favorite games!
we hate fps cause it's the biggest thing this gen and then there is alot of clones of them (call of duty)My favorite rpgs from this gen have been demons souls and dark souls. so if we were to be big into rpg's we would hate them and the clones.

Maybe, but I'll take a good rpg over a fps anyday of the week.
Well huge fps fans don't hate fps games... I don't hate fps' either, i buy them and have some fun with them, I also play rpgs, action games, puzzle games, the whole lot really. the problem is the people who only play fps games. developers and publishers see this and want a piece of the pie. More fps= less games of other genres. I just wish people didnt only buy COD and tried some other things.
But to answer your question, no i dont think we would hate the rpgs and their clones if you like rpgs.
the way i see it if CoD gets removed from the picture then this would happenAlso if too many rpgs are made they may get stale like the fps genre. We need a happy medium.

KoA is very good. I'm very impressed by it and how there isn't game breaking glitches anywhere.
Mass Effect 2 is awesome.
I'm keeping an eye on:
Favorite : Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
I would love to add The Witcher 2 to this list as the game just looks perfect but sadly I have a ps3. I feel cheated =(
I guess after I'm done with Reckoning I could try it out on my laptop but it's just not the same as playing on a tv.
As a side note, I have one gripe about Mass Effect. I played the second and absolutely LOVED the game but I just loathe the setting. If they made the same game (story, features, conversation system wise) but in a different setting, I'd be all over it. But the whole space, alien thing just doesn't sit with me. In my opinion, Mass Effect set in a RAGE type setting would make me cream my pants.
so many good ones, my personal favourite gen for RPGs (I know, an unpopular stance) but Mass Effect, Fallout, Dragons Age and Skyrim are just so bloody good. If I had to pick a singular favrouite it would be Mass Effect 1, but #3 could take it's place next month.
Favorites so far have been Tales of Vesperia, Valkyria Chronicles, Demon's Souls, Skyrim, NIER (which I'm currently playing) and Fallout 3 was very good as well. I'm really looking forward to giving KoA a try, as well as finally being able to buy my copy of Xenoblade Chronicles.
Final fantasy XIII had a great story if you think about it and I like the twist as the end if you think about it a little differently. The combat was fun and innovative, but I would like more control over the party in combat. The combat was.
Final fantasy XIII-2 I never like the time travel stories. They fix many part of the game but they added back tracking.
Mass Effect 1 was a great started point to a third person shooter and RPG.
Mass Effect 2 was not a RPG. It had a good pretend system (multi dialog and moral pick) but they took too much out to make it a good RPG. I also found the story to be bad and the cast to be the worse I have every seen in a game.
Dragon Age origins: a good RPG but not that innovative.
Dragon Age II Bioware tried to be little innovative but got attack for it. Not a bad RPG.
Two Worlds I laugh at the main character dialog. The personal was a great ideal.
Two Worlds II fixed many of problems in the first game and increase the number of environments you can explore.
Oblivion and Skyrim: many things to see and it nice seeking out but the combat was very basic and could be played by just pressing a button.
Enchanted Arms: The story was not that good but I have fun with the combat. I only seen this type of combat in Megaman NT and it still good here.
Deus Ex HR: It is a good but there was a limited feel to it.
Star Ocean The last Hope: does not stand out that much just the stander (W/J)RPG story.
Infiinite Undiscovery: Not a bad ideal but it seems lacking.
The Last Remnant: Need a bit of work but the large force combat a unique ideal.
Resonance Of Fate: The character were fun to watch and the combat was greats but the main story was weak.
Demon Soul too much back tracking for me.
Magna Carta 2 nothing special.
Blue Dragon: a true turn base Encounter but it does it well and prove that they still have a place. Story wise it just the stander (W/J)RPG story.
Fallout 3 and Fallout New vegas: many places to see but the control over role created were too nice and allow for overpowering too easy.
Venetica, Risen: Story wise it just the stander (W/J)RPG story. The story was just the same as many other WRPG.
Lost Odyssey: fun combat and prove there is no reason to say turn base is outdated. The story was not that good for me.
Tales of Vesperia: Good game. The character were fun but the story fall into the same trap that a few other of the Tale of… stories have fallen into.
Divinity II The Dragon Knight Saga: After a point in the game you can switch between human and dragon form but it was only in a few areas and was very limited to what you can do.
Can't think of any that were remotely good. The genre could really benefit from another Arcanum.
5. Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines foxhound_fox
This would be my vote, if valid.
