I'm an avid gamer, but I've been trying to think of the first games I remember playing and really loved. I remember sneaking into my cousins dad's study to boot up his mac to play Monkey Island, where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? And Myst (which I wasn't very good at). If you're a gamer, what do you remember playing and why?

Alphabet Zoo on my dad's Commodore 64. This was around 1986? 🤔

I feel old.

Photos exist of a baby me holding a controller 'playing' Kirby 3.

Do not think I could play it well considering I was incapable of knowing what to do. Probably bashed the buttons. Even then, the game would be considered retro for that time period as well.

Pretty certain it was Tekken 3 on the PS1. I remember my father hooking up the PS1 to the TV.

I have vague memories of duck hunt but my first proper memory was sonic on the mega drive.

Might have been Monsters, Inc. Scream Team on the PS1 though I'm not 100% sure.

Elite on the BBC Micro. i think there may be some text adventures before that but Elite is the first one where i remember the name :P.

Initially i had to load it from cassette which took an age. then the mighty floppy disc arrived and really cut the time down.

Hmm that's a tough one... I'm pretty sure it was something on Sega Master System. Probably Alex Kidd or Wonder Boy.

My family got an NES in '89. With it was Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt. So Super Mario Bros was probably the first video game I ever played, and I still play it on occasion, having played through it just a few months ago. It's every bit as fun now as it was then.

Gyromite

My brother had Rob the Robot, which was released with Gyromite and Stack up. I could just about play them games. I must have been about 2 or 2 years old.

Contender on PS1, it was an old boxing game but lots of fun. After that it was either Tomba or Crash Bandicoot: Warped.

Um, does Tomagochi (were you take care of your digital pet, which was put inside a chronometer looking device) count? If not, then probably portable Tetris device (adding a pic, so you'd know what I'm talking about). Besides Tetris, it had tons of other games like racing, shooting, boxing etc.

One of those handhelds with baked in graphics and limited move sets, typically three.

I think Tekken 2 was my first ever game. Either that or Syphon Filter. I was only 3-4 years old so did not play much.

Tekken 3 was the first game I ever owned myself and played properly, back '98. (5 y/o)

A Game called Code Name: Viper on the NES. It was just a side scroller by Capcom but the dude had tan pants on and on NES graphics it looked like I was running around shooting Ninjas without any pants on. As a child I found that exponentially amusing.

I remember I was very impressed by The 7th Guest when I played it. Great visuals and real-life actors in the cutscenes. It blew my mind. And I remember getting a DVD-Rom for my PC for the first time and playing UAKM:Overseer on DVD was pretty cool. I could hook up my computer to my bigger TV to watch the cutscenes.
