I live in what most people would call your average middle class neighborhood. In the past four months my car has broken into three times right in front of my drive way during the middle of the night, and my next door neighbor had her RV basically ransacked. One of the break ins into my car was actually in broad daylight and I walked out as the guy was crouched on the side of my car. I basically yelled at the dude and chased him off before the police found him in somebody's backyard. Point being, I have been seeing sketchy things happen in my neighborhood for year now and people always say "Wow, wouldn't expect that in your neighborhood!". I really don't feel safe living where I live. I get tense for a second or two everytime I hear my house creak during the middle of the night, yet I live in what most people would consider to be a decent neighborhood. Do you feel safe where you life? And if not, what experience caused you to feel unsafe?

Lived in my current neighborhood for a couple of years, only had something stolen once. For the most part I feel safe.

I live in Minnesota, other than crappy weather and bridge collapses nothing really happens here all that much.

We've got a pretty great community, while yeah small things do happen and they do everywhere, I feel very safe here.

Although there are some slightly less than savoury residential spots around the area, yeah, it's pretty safe where I am. I could leave every door unlocked at night if I really wanted to. It's really just mostly families, and the occasional older person living here. And from my own observations, everyone just goes about their business.

no, too many illegal indonesians and filippinos(the muslim insurgent kinds) here. But at least it is better than my last home, where there were tons of indian gangsters.

You seem safe enough, however if I was your car I would feel quite violated.

Yes.

My city is quite safe. The foreign immigrants here do cause some crimes but overall its much more safer than so many other places.

We also had a bunch of armed robberies and crimes caused by international criminal groups but those occur very rarely.

For the most part, yes. I just need to avoid dark alleys at night.

Not really if I'm honest. It's not the worst area to live in but it can be quite dodgey sometimes

I do, yeah. The biggest crime that I'm aware of in my street was that my car was scratched once, about six years ago (I leave it out on the street every night). I've also never had any problems in my neighbouring suburbs, and I feel fairly safe walking alone around my city at night, even after midnight. It's a good area.

Yep, pretty safe. There are some bad areas in my city, but living across from Detroit gives you persepective on what a "bad neighborhood" is

Largely. I have a size deterrent working in my favor most of the time. Granted, as far as property goes, locks work well.

I live in a sleepy hamlet with mostly farmers and Amish around. There's few roads leading into and out of my neighborhood. People here tend to notice things out of the ordinary, especially strangers and cars not from here. So, yeah. I feel quite safe.

Yeah, don't get me wrong there are areas in my city I wouldn't go alone at night but I feel very comfortable walking around most anywhere.

I feel the safest when I am in Tokyo.

The lights are always on, there are many people on the street and you would never get mugged and very rarely have break ins.

The only thing that makes me feel not safe are natural disasters.

Considering I'm about the last person most people would think to rob or mug or anything, I feel safe anywhere.

I live in the rural countryside of Northern Tennessee. Of course I'm safe. From humans, anyway. Nature kicks our asses.

Where i live is pretty safe. Last theft that I've heard of was something like 10 years ago. There is one guy who is kind of nuts but he's never hurt anyone so far.

I never said there wasn't a lot of crime. There isn't a lot of violent crime, but there's still plenty to do. I'm rarely ever bored at work.
