I heard he was going to do this, and not least bit surprised it would end like this. Basically, he was going to prove to world that the earth is flat by launching himself into space, but shortly after launch his rocket crashed into the ground. Happened yesterday.

He is a flat earth idiot but I do have respect that to the end he chases what he loved and passionate about. RIP.

Donald Trumps space marines shot him down on behalf of NASA. I kid, but that theory will pop up.

Sorry, I have zero sympathy for such stupidity. None. This is just a needless waste of a life to "disprove" something that has been beyond dispute for ages now. Though it makes me wonder why he pursued rocketry, a far more technically demanding and risky method, than building himself a high altitude balloon? Reason rockets are required is to be able to break free from the Earth's gravitational pull, not attain altitude. There are far safer ways to do that.

Eh, no big loss. If you're such an imbecile, the gene pool won't be amiss.

The man had enough knowledge in terms of rockets and propulsion yet believed the earth was flat?

Stupid is as stupid does.

Sorry but in the grand scheme of ways people die, this man died over sheer stupidity. He lived the life of stupidity and died with such a title.

I think I also read he was being filmed for a TV series going to be aired by the Discovery network... man have those stations resorted to some of the worst line-ups in recent years. I mean sure the History channel was dubbed the Hitler channel for all the WW2 documentaries they made, but I liked those. I liked the stuff on cosmology the Science channel had. Now they pander to the lowest common denominator with UFO this-that bullshit, and stupid reality TV shows.

Yeah, History channel was pretty legit back in the day. Not up to the level of NOVA or anything, but far better than the garbage tier trash they've devolved into.

Yeah I read about this.

Apparently the parachute snagged on the launch mechanism and that caused it to not deploy, sending him crashing into the ground.

The real shame here is the guy could have just gone to the top of a mountain on a clear day, witnessed the curvature of the earth there, and accepted the fact that the earth is round.

This kinda reminds me of that one rocket quest in Fallout NV. It's unfortunate he died as you can see the parachute detached immediately after launch. RIP.

Well, the gene pool didn't favor this brave fool, did it?

Watching this footage of this imbecile kill himself, you are literally, literally witnessing the death of stupidity in action. Nature is unmerciful to the even the most prudent amongst us, much less the foolish, they certainly don't stand in its favor, as this absolute tool exemplified. Nothing will be missed. As for me showing no compassion.....I'm still here, he's not.

Not genes of a coward like someone who name calls and mocks the dead. The reason you're still here is so you get punished by the Holy Spirit for your transgressions, but I believe you can be redeemed like everyone else.

Alright, now I believe you're trolling.

According to his PR rep, he didn't truly believe in a flat Earth, but just used it as a PR stunt to get publicity and funding.

RIP.

The dude was a daredevil who held a record for jumping a stretch limousine. He was interested in rocketry and he died doing something he was interested in. He said he was a flat earther and he also said that had nothing to do with his rocketry. But media.

Do you think he expected that rocket to propel him to the edge of space? No. He hoped to get to 5,000 ft which would have been 3 times his last launch. He did this while filming an episode about amateurs interested in rocketry and space part of a TV show on the Science Channel. Who knew that there are apparently a bunch of amateur teams attempting similar feats?

It's possible he wasn't even a flat earther as daredevils need publicity. Regardless, he died because he was a daredevil and interested in rocketry...not because he was a flat earther.
