Poll Michael Keaton still the best batman? (47 votes)

Of course 51%
Nay 49%

Excluding the animated Batman, Kevin, would we agree or disagree Michael Keaton is still the best batman?

Likes Bale in Begins. Really bad in the other. Especially TDKR.

The big, climax confrontation "so you came back to die with your city" (Tom Hardy is excellent) with his shitty flat response of "no, I came back to stop you" is one of the reasons TDKR fubered it's potential. He sucked. Every line he delivered was terrible.

Keaton as Batman was among the best who have played Batman/Bruce Wayne. As Wayne, I generally put him behind Val Kilmer who portrayed Bruce Wayne better than any other actor ever has and as Batman I'd say that Keaton is top dawg above Bale and Kilmer. If a live action Batman film is ever made, I would still pick Keaton to play old Bruce Wayne as he would fit the role nicely and have Terry played by Taylor Lautner.

Kilmer was the best Wayne. And if I can't pick Conroy as the best Batman, then I'll settle for Keaton.

Bale all the way for the live action movies while Conroy is hands down the best voice actor for Batman.

Keaton was my fave, followed by Bale.

Kilmer and Clooney were a joke. Neither are a really good actor and it showed in this role.

I'm surprised to see so much support for Kilmer, because I thought he was good too.

Keaton never appeared tough. Seemed like too nice a guy.

Clooney has that bobblehead thing going (watch him when he speaks in these movies: he can't help but move his head like its on a spring)

1) Bale

2) Kilmer

3) Keaton

4) Clooney

Arguably either him or Christian Bale, definitely not Val Kilmer or George Clooney. Michael Keaton worked though for Tim Burton's two Batman films when they were made. Be lucky it was made when it was made and not at the peak of the Depp-Burton bromance.

What was wrong with his performance in Jack Frost? Not the movie itself, but Keaton's performance.

No, Bale was. Hands down.

BTW: when are people going to comprehend that Batman's voice in the Bale/Nolan films, aside from actually fitting how Batman's voice is described in the comics, is an effect done in post-production and not Bale's acting?

That's probably why the man who created Batman praised him.

It's worth noting as well, it doesn't actually have to be like the comics. Nor does perfectly adapting the comics = better

I would agree with this. Although Batman Returns basically has, no story (it does but it's fucking mental) and was created on some strange manic depressive LSD drip, the style and weirdness make it work.

As with all Nolan movies, his characters are monotone with practically no emotive qualities. Doesn't know how to do woman, or romance or any of that, he's like Data from startrek trying to understand "love".

I actually rewatched both Batman and Batman Returns and found Keaton as the best Batman for that era. I like Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne but found Batman good but that voice made me cringe and laugh.

Keaton (yawn ... and fking ugly bruce wayne)

Kilmer (he can't act ... and that diamond shape lips is disturbingly ugly)

Affleck (predict to be the worst)

Bale definitely, but have to agree with everybody that his voice is the worst.

Looking forward to seeing Affleck in action, don't have much hope for him though

Hmm, Bale was a horrible Batman and Assfleck does not even rank in the top 100000000000000 Batmans

But as the best , Keaton ranks up there but i would have to go with Clooney.

Even tho the movie stank worse than Arnold's armpits after a work out.

Where is the love for Adam West? That dude was an awesome Batman. True to the comics but added his own charm to the role. He gets my vote for best Batman followed by Keaton and then Bale.

This is not counting Kevin Conroy/Bruce Timm batman...that is God tier stuff.

Don't rate him, he didn't pull off anything other than light heartedness and funnies

Ben Affleck has been then best batman, despite movie being a bit crap, his performance as Bruce Wayne and batman was excsilent.

@undefined:

1. Ben Affleck

2. Adam West

3. Christian Bale

4. Val Kilmer

5. Michael Keaton

Technically the only reason why I liked Michael Keaton so much was because he was the 1st true Hollywood Batman but he actually kinda sucked as Batman himself and he was a horrible Bruce Wayne.
