Star Wars fans, what are your thoughts on *The High Republic* era we are going to?

Now that the Skywalker series is finally over, Disney is now free to explore newer settings in the SW franchise and the High Republic takes place 200 years into the past before the events of The Phantom Mance start. It's a time where the Sith are in hiding, there is peace in the Republic, and the conflict is coming from outside the Republic from invaders called The Nile.

They are describing the Jedi as Space Texas Rangers fighting Space Vikings. This could be interesting. Future new trilogy movies, games, books/comics, TV series and toy lines for the High Republic. This is basically saying Disney, is doing a full reboot.

I though this was going to be about Star Wars characters getting lit as hell. Way to dash my hopes.

Well, they do have to make money so I guess I can see why they are doing this.

I feel like there are a lot of really powerful anti-war stories that are told in a war setting.

Tired of Star Wars b.s movies, the original three are classics and the rest are Crap.

War is hard business.

I've always been interested in the history of Star Wars. Provided it the write it well... I'll be excited for it, but well... the new trilogy...

High Republic doesn't go far enough into the past. 200 years might as well be 10, I guarentee you a lot of the stuff covered in it will be known.

They need to go full "Old Republic"; talk about Revan, someone fairly known, then go into the more obscure. Open up a darker, more serious side of Star Wars.

@mrbojangles25: That always bugged me about the franchise...they wussed out about certain things. Han Solo was a "spice" runner? Just say what he was REALLY doing...he was hauling bricks of space coke! He was a drugrunner, plain and simple.
