1050 ti msi the cheaper model costs 165€

clock speed of 1290mhz

1050 ti asus rog strix has base clock of 1379mhz and goes up to 1506mhz (all without overclocking manually) and while keeping cool and silent (is part of their advertisement).

Also 1060 3gb is 270€ (and if I add 70€ here and another 70€ on better cpu in the end this build will go way too expensive so thats why I ask you to choose between those two)

So which one would you recommend?

The cheaper 1050ti or the asus rog strix 1050 ti (with 15% higher clock speed)?

Will those 15% reflect on noticeable worthy extra fps?

Thanks for your time guys :)

Your better off getting the strongest gpu that you can. What cpu are you aiming for? What games are you planning on playing and at what resolution? As long as your getting at least a ryzen quad core or any intel quad core cpu you will be fine. The GTX 1060 3gb is much faster than the best 1050ti... The difference between a 1050ti vs a 15% higher clocked 1050ti is slight, your looking at around 5% fps differences at most.

@MonsieurX: Manual OC voids warranty while OC mode with a 15% clock boost from factory will still be valid on warranty.

I like to have it safe and in case of having a problem sent it to repair without costs.

Flashing the bios will void the warranty, not overclocking

1060 3gb is 270€ here. I can buy that one probably a better 1080p gaming gpu after all.

1060 6gb is 360+ and the best quality one is 400€ so thats too much for me).

1050ti 200€ vs 1060 3gb 270€... I think I go for second choice after all

No, what voids the warranty if you touch the voltage of that GPU OC.

Anyhow 15% faster clocks result in 1-5fps difference so I wouldn't bother too much with OC unless you can't afford a new GPU and you must play some game on some graphic settings.

About the GPU cost, you get what you pay for - more money = more power.

If you aim on X game or X graphics settings or keep playing X years on some graphic settings then you should tell us now in order to let you know what GPU is needed.

Overall 1050 or 1060 are good cards for nowday gaming on 1080p.

@pcmasterrace69:

For 1080p 60 fps 1060 3gb is a no brainer over 1050ti.

That's a tough choice... GTX 1060 3GB isn't really enough for 1080p now days.. I'm talking about VRAM... I'd honestly would probably get a 1050 Ti if I were you. It's a great budget GPU and it's 4GB afterall. Otherwise I would get GTX 1060 6GB.

@insane_metalist:

The horsepower behind the 3gb 1060 overshadows the slower 1050ti 4gb. 3gb is ok for 1080p.

Yeah I know that 1060 3GB is a bit of a better performer. But judging by those prices... I'd get 1050 Ti (that's my personal opinion though). I'd add the €105 left over towards the CPU which TC said he was in need of.
