My brother bought a HDTV and when he hooked it up to his DVD player via component, it only displays in one color. Does he have to change something in the DVD setting for it to display properly? He says it comes out in a red color only. Thanks in advance.

Only displays in like a red/blue/green hue over everything? Check that the jacks are in the right input set and in the correctly colored jack.
If you are 100% certain the jacks are in the right place than it's one of two things. The inputs are bad or the cable is bad. I guess there is some crazy off chance there is a setting on the TV, but you should simply just have to chance the input, i.e. component 1 or 2.

You need to set the switch on the back of the DVD player to progressive scan!!!
