Laptop recommendation help

Hi,

I need a laptop(desktop is not an option in my situation) for under $900. It will be bought in February. I'm not sure about screen size but definately want 15.6"-17.3". It does not need a high-end graphics card, intergrated is fine.

Please fill this out:

Best AMD-based 15.6":

Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT:The reason i have listed both AMD basedand Intel based is because I have some bad experiences with Intel in the past, but are willing to give them a second chance. I also want to see what AMD has to offer.

Most of these are below budget(mostly the 17.3 inch) because you need just a little bit more to enter the high/gaming end of the spectrum. These are just my suggestions, feel free to point out better ones(other responders).

i done some more searching on amazon and found this. Is it good/better than suggestions?

this is a superior machine to your i7 machine in most ways..

while you may have a 4 core its super slow this core i5 can process on 2 cores and match it stride for stride if not surpass it never buy a core i7 unless your budget exceed $1100 otherwise there all gimmicks.. your buying a 4 core that sint any better than the 2 core's at cheaper/equal price tags

you sure? the i7 goes up to 2.93ghz, higher than the i5 and according to this the 5650 is better than the one you recommended

the core i7 you listed at the VERY end.. well it has intel integrated graphics.. not an ati chipset

and a slow 4 core is easily bested by a fast 2 core.. especially when your talking core i5 vs core i7 where the architectures are identical.

You might want to reconsider getting a laptop with a screen that large. Those things are heavy! Considered getting an external LCD that you can plug into when you're at home? You can get some pretty large monitors these days for $200. Then you can have the best of both worlds - a smaller more portable laptop and the option to use a big screen at home.
