Everybody I have known who has owned this monitor (weither its been users on this forum, people I know personally, people I game with online) have all said its great. I"m not saying this is the absolute #1 best monitor in the price range but its legit

GTG != input lag.

if you're into fast paced fps and play competitively then you should be looking for a 120 or 144Hz monitor.

yes, but dont worry about the 8ms is all Im getting at. the latency on the above monitor is 7.4ms. as an example, the benq XL2420T says its 5ms GTG @ 60hz and 2ms @ 120hz. @ 60Hz its latency is 7.9ms @ 120hz its 3.4ms. short version, dont worry about the GTG number.

Seconded, I have one personally and the colors are gorgeous and I've noticed no issues with input lag or refresh rate.

I still think the Benq EW2420 has a better static contrast ratio, and the VA-LED panel is just amazing. Problem is that its a lottery buying one of these as the QA wasn't so good on this model. I've had both U2412M and EW2420 and I say the EW2420 is much better in terms of colour and features

I think it's hard to buy a bad monitor these days.

You can't buy from specs since they're pretty much all made up (only 'real' numbers are size, res, refresh rate, panel type).

They cost more and the U2412M has low input lag which is great for gaming.

I recommend Asus.

Here's what I found that matches your requirements.

OK, so I found the Asus PA248Q on ncix.com, but no luck on the Dell U2412M except from the Dell website, and they are the same price, 299.99 for asus one and right now 299.99(reg, 369.99) for Dell. hmm....

Man, Amazon Canada is complete crap. I'm so jealous of the US site. I don't know if I'm not looking hard enough, but TV's, speakers, and headphones in general in Canada have prices that are way jacked up compared to other electronics, it blows.

On-Topic: I have a U2412m and love it, I almost never play shooters though.

Check out Eizo FS2333, it is the best gaming monitor. If you are looking for IPS gaming monitor then definitely go for Asus 24" LED VG248QE. Hotel safes.
