Hey all,

I've been playing the crap out of Eschalon book I and II as of late again. Having finished with Diablo III and such so I'm looking for a good isometric RPG. I've played the usual; -

Neverwinter Nights

Icewind Dale

Baldurs Gate

Planescape Torment

Divine Divinity

You know, the most common and better known ones. I'm just looking for something new and fresh. I don't run on the best system, but it's not the worst either. Just throw some suggestions and they will all be considered and appreciated.

Cheers!

I consider Dragon Age 1 to have an isometric view. Slightly more limited but still.

Sacred 2 would need some playing with camera setting to get decent isometric gaming~

you could check out A Farewell to Dragons.

Grotesque Tactic's games might fit your bill! Kind of corny, silly humor, but the games are pretty descent.

Yeah, just make sure to get the Circle of Eight mod and you're good to go. Arcanum is another great choice if you haven't played it already.

ToEE and the Co8 modpack

Fallout 1&2

Jagged Alliance 2 and the 1.13 mod. (might wanna try vanillia first)

Realms of Arkania series

Arcanum

If you also would be open to play from a 'top down' perspective, there are alot more options too.

Just fyi keep an eye out for 'Xenonauts' if you haven't heard about it. They are in the alpha stage now so it'll take some time before it's released. It looks great imo.

I played the beta...it's kinda like a slower and more thoughtful Divine Divinity. It shares alot with combat/items/skills/ect but the difference is Inquisitor has TONS more dialog. Almost every item had page (real pages lol) long descriptions, most of the dialog is pretty long, and while there is lots of combat it's also equally focused on investigating heretics and parsing through tons of text.

Try Eschalon Book 1 and 2. Cheap, but slightly shorter games. Still great turn-based isometric RPGs.

They're both on Steam for 10-15 bucks.

Thanks a bunch for all of the replies! For the record, I do actually own Titans Quest, ToEE, Arcanum, Sacred Gold, Grotesque Tactics, Drakensang, Fallout 1 and I've owned DA: Origins in the past. I have been meaning to check out the games from Spiderweb but it keeps popping out of my mind. I've been looking into inquisitor and it does look extremely interesting and I'm downloading it as I'm typing this. As for Jagged Alliance and Realms of Arkania, I haven't checked them out but I will as soon as I have time for it. Thanks for all of the replies, I really do appreciate them all! Chronic

Lookup the steam store for rpg's. You get a lot of good quality games for small money from the indie developers.

Yep, I do this fairly recently as RPG's are basically all of which I play. But there's a lot of killer games that aren't listed on there too that aren't well known.

I'm really enjoying Inquisitor. The production values are a little spotty in some areas and the translation has a few problems but other than that its pretty great. It almost plays like a detective game, you spend a lot of time just questioning people to build your case against heretics.

I actually own Dungeon Siege 1, but have been unable to play it with running on Windows 7 and finding no workaround having tried for hours. Thanks for the suggestions though.
