I just got a new comp, an Intel 3GH Duel Core and WinXP Media Edition. When I installed Alpha Centuri/Alien Crossfire, everything seemed fine, but when I first tried to run the game, I got a message that the CPU isn't supported and the game crashed almost immediately afterwards. Is there any known way to fix this problem? I'd really hate to loose my favorite game because it can't cope with the new computer.

I think you should sent a tech support email to Firaxis and maybe even Intel. They might have a workaround for you.

I've had the same problem when I was trying to run it on my Pentium 4.  Here's how to fix it:

Open Alpha Centauri.Ini file.  The last line of that file should say:

ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm=1

Save the file and try running the game.  It should work.  If it doesn't, e-mail tech support :roll:

You can also use the task manager and change the processor affinity to one processor for the game.
