Hiya, I remember hearing about over heating or melting with the RTX 4090 and was wondering what would be the best way to cool it down.

I have no knowledge with water coolers and all, so i might avoid that route altogether, but are there any other more effective ways to avoid any problems with the RTX 4090 from melting or breaking down. I currently have a GTX 1080ti and plan to upgrade in due time.

Any details would be great.

Thanks :)

@Mickeyminime: Pretty much all the stock coolers do a good job of keeping it cool. The issue is with the power connector that it uses. If not inserted all the way, it could cause the connector to melt. I believe they fixed the issue with a new connector a while back. So, there should not be any issues if you were to buy a new one. Personally, I have owned a Gigabyte Gaming OC 4090 since launch and have had no issues. Just buy the one that is available for the cheapest price. Do a quick search for that model and if there are no issues specific to it (like bad coil whine), pull the trigger.
