Minecraft is great for that IMO with no time limits and low danger.

Postal 2 and Saints: Row The Third. There's nothing quite like urinating on someone until they regurgitate and then decapitating their head while simultaneously enabling bullet time to allow yourself to kick their head in the air like a soccer ball and also so you may gain enough time to switch to your katana so you may slice their head as it is floating through the air. Also here are a few flash games you may enjoy: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/254456http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/508440 Or watching this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qD0Y8GeBkwk&hd=1&t=3m18s

Serious Sam, there's nothing as relieving as shooting the hell out of 15 alien waves counting 100-200 creatures per one.

Surfing/Bunnyhopping in Counter-Strike, any arena FPS where you can jump around a lot and with ease (like Warsow), driving games (Burnout Paradise is fine), and sandbox games. I find it that chill stuff is good for relieving stress, now going all out killing people and causing mayhem might relieve some of your stress but they won't do it that well (IMO).

I'd imagine Just Cause 2 would work too. So much to explore and drive.

Lol @ the above comments, mentioning FPS's and such.. I suppose those could pass for "stress relieving."

Quantum Conundrum is a suitable choice IMO. Mentally stimulating, but it has a warm nostalgic atmosphere to it. It might not be the type of game you usually look for, but it's certainly worth a try if you liked Portal.

i think it's time u see a docter, also ur scaring me ;x

o and i wud recommend quake live
the game can be frustrating if u play against rocket hax0rx like cha0ticz, who don't let me get into a position to shaft him because that happens... FFF, but you will be so engaged in teh gaem that you will then do everything else gud in RL bcuz of all your quake live doolin experience

also bonus points to learn irl trash talking skills from evryone in dis gaem, which i already had but i added a few in my arse-nel by playing ql

e.g for anything just say "GOTTA WORK ON DAT xxx"

First off will you ever stop shamelessly promoting QL in threads it has no place being mentioned? Also how in the world could you edit that post 4 times and STILL end up with grammar like that!

each person relieves stress differently. some work out, some punch stuff, some play action packed, mindless games.

The only stress-relieving games I know are those with no shooting such as FSX. Some would say it's boring. I find it soothing:

fsx2012-04-2105-57-48-92.jpg

Just fly around and observe the scenery:

I find shooting things in the face (in video games) stress relieving.

I usually mellow out to something like The Sims or Tropico or something like that. Usually what I play when I get burned out on racing games or shooters.

Really surprised no one has mentioned Left 4 Dead 2. Whenever I'm frustrated with other games I just grab a few friends and beat zombies with frying pans. You guys should try it!

Multiplayer L4D2 can be irritating if you have baddies on your team. However, steam rolling the recent influx of baddies, that is rather entertaining.

Challenging means I have to use my brain, which is not stress relieving.

Has no reg?

Also I have killing floor, it is an awesome game but not as good at stress relief as l4d2 I find.

I guess it's different for most people, but I'll post stress relieving games for me, just in case any catch your eye.

  • Beat Hazard
  • Audiosurf
  • Aaaaaaaaaaaaaagh A reckless disregard for gravity.
  • Quake Live - That one's a new one for me, but I dunno, just works.
  • GTA4 - Not killing people, just driving around. (I know that's a bit weird ^-^ )
  • The Stanley Parable - I know that's a mad, but due to the fact that there's not much action, just an engrossing experience, it relieves stress for me.
  • Frozen Synapse - I find the slow and precise planning rewarding and stress relieving.

That's all I can think of right now...
