Best Multiplayer Shooter this Gen, Rainbow Six: Siege has 2.3 million daily active players

In a blog post, Ubisoft said 2.3 million people play Siege every day, which is an impressive number indeed.

Is there really any doubt that Rainbow Six: Siege is the best multiplayer shooter this gen?

While other shooters die down after 2 weeks, R6S not only managed to maintain its players, the number of players actually increased dramatically over time. This shows how useless hype and awards are.

A true multiplayer game will shine long after release, and thanks to Ubisoft's great support of the game, it's easily the best shooter to come out this generation with it's unique take on tactical gameplay through the use of its impressive destruction that completely changes how shooters play.

I've never saw Halo 5 spelled that way? lol :P

for me Rainbow Six Siege and The Last of Us are the only multiplayer games that can still be fresh after years of playing because they are so diverse in their gameplay and how encounters can go. R6 is incredibly fun with a full party of 5, voicechat and solid teamwork. Also pretty cool they've supported the game for almost 2 years now after release.

Cool, I got the game on sale a few months ago, still haven't had time to play it. These days I'm more into fast paced shooters but I loved RB6 last Gen, it was a nice change of pace and I definitely want to make some time for it soon. I like to play these games competitively and this requires a time investment, to become good at the game, to find good teammates, etc. I'll get to it one day

i didnt say they arent updating it, the thread i made last week about Halo and Gears I said liked all the free content thats come to the game. Halo 5 has a ton of modes

while im glad r6 is where its at, pretty sure OW shits on it numbers wise.

The success of the game surprises me quite a bit. I had counted the series out with Ubisoft unable to salvage it.

I haven't really play that much MP shooters this year other then Mass Effect: Andromeda MP & Warframe. All I been doing lately is just playing single player games for the most parts but I am playing Titanfall 2 but haven't play the MP yet anyways.

Easily the best shooter I've played in a long time. So rewarding working with a team and doing strats right. Finally getting around to doing my rank on PC, getting matched against high golds so hopefully float in gold for a while

I hated it, to be honest. I thought it was so bland and limited compared to Rainbow Six Vegas / RSV2. Multiplayer only with limited maps, gametypes, and class based? I was wicked disappointed.

R6V and R6V2 were HUGE in their respective years. I remember that only Gears of War was more popular than R6V in 2006 (or was it 07'?). I would buy another UBISOFT Rainbow six game asap if they released one.

Usual BS. Overwatch, Halo 5, R6 Siege, Day of Infamy. One persons best will never be everyone's and there is no "best"" in subjective entertainment.

Siege, while hugely over rated, is sadly much better than most the other crap out there. Then again, it's the only shooter on the market with any originality to speak of (these days), so I guess it makes sense.

While I don't like the game (shame, because I really wanted to and tried), I think if ANYTHING it shows that there are more players out there looking for a one life, tactical, non health regen shooter than respawn and over the top cartoon crap with crazy over the top weapons and personalities.

Time for a new SOCOM (no, not SOCOM 4)...

Oh not saying that but when you start ranking them there is a problem. What makes James Brown better than Elvis Presley(or vice-versa) other than purely subjective opinion? I do agree there are all-time greats. I just don't agree with the notion there is a greatest.
