Can Diablo 2 R takeover and return to its throne as action RPG King over D3 D4 and PoE?

@zerothehero: i want it too, but with Blizzard recent track record.. they will probably botch this in more ways than 1...

It will be a nice revisit to a game I spent years playing with friends, but I don't think it will be a huge success relative to Blizzard's new games.

WoW Classic has been a hit with a few hundred thousand people and it's really awesome that they did that for the fans, but compared to the millions of people that play WoW Retail it's not much.

I don't think people should hype this up too much as some sort of blockbuster or anything, it's just a fun little bonus for fans.

While I loved it back in the day and I really hope that this remake turns out great I think I would say that I’m looking forward to Diablo 4 more. It’s a new game and I’m pretty interested in seeing where they go with the story.

Also maybe I am missing the point, but why are people making "cross progression" a big thing? It basically says "Hey if you buy our game on two platforms the saves carry over". They're essentially asking you to buy multiple copies...

Cross-play, on the other hand, would definitely be something to get excited about but sadly I don't think this game will have it :(

Path of Exile 2 might give it a run for its money... and it's free.

Never played the original, so i am very excited to play this and hope i can get a 3060/3060ti/3070 by then. SInce there isn't many games that interest me in 2021, i might just play D2 like many of you did in early 2000's aka nolife it😖

Also, no crossplay in this game is the biggest failure of them all. Unacceptable.

I'm skipping Diablo 2 and I'll ge getting both Diablo IV and Path of Exile 2.

Diablo 2 just doesn't do it for me, even with its fresh coat of paint it still looks and feels old school to me.

Plus it's Activision/Blizzard, I'll happily skip one of their products.

I think I'm done supporting Activision's poor attempt to puppet the shambling corpse of Blizzard so I'll pass.

Definitely more interested in d4, that being said I doubt we will see that anytime soon so in the meantime I’ll happily revisit d2 again!

No, Diablo style ARPG looters are and have always been, garbage.

ARPGs like Dark Souls, Ys, Mount and Blade, Deus Ex, System Shock 2 now that's more like it.

Idk will have to see. I love Diablo 2 its one of my absolute childhood game and still incredibly fun to just play. Will need to see if the remaster actually enhanced the feel of the game. There is just something about D2 sprites that just felt right and I hope it is not lost in the conversion.

Only $40 USD on PC. That's a steal if you ask me.

I've since found out that the £55 was for the collection and just D2 is a £30 so I will buy it.

I'm really excited for Diablo 2, but times have changed. Us older guard may enjoy revisiting this and grinding in our memory palace but D4 has a much better chance of being the big mass-appeal game D2 once was

I think I’ll give this a miss, bring on D4 and DImmortal.

Eh I'm not going to play this. I played plenty of D2 back in the day and now there are better ARPG games.

I wouldn't support Blizz even if I did want to play it anyway.
