Konami and David Hayter educates gamers on the MGS franchise!

Looks like Konami is gearing up to get people hyped for MGS again. What do you think about the MGS franchise, SW? Do you miss it? Think it’s overrated? MGS 1 is my all time favorite game. Don’t think that will ever change. MGS 2 was amazing and prophetic. After that, the series hasn’t been as great to me. I didn’t care about the survival mechanics of MGS 3 or the base building mechanics of the PSP games or 5. MGS 4 was great fan service, but was loaded with cut scenes. But I welcome back the franchise and hope it’s as amazing as it once was.

I loved the series. I don't get your gripe with mgs3. It was a great title in a cold war era as well. I agree with you about mgs4, there should have been a lot more gameplay and less cut scenes. I wasn't a fan of the mgs 5 story or repetitiveness. Ground zeroes was a perfect beginning. I'm hoping they remake mgs and sons of liberty as well.

I'm in the minority, MGS2 is my favorite game in the franchise. I agree with the cutscenes in 4. I remember one being like 90 minutes long. It was still a good game. Plus it has my favorite start screen of all time. It's hard to get hyped for the series anymore when the mind behind it is not involved anymore.

If Kojima isn't coming back for MGS, I ain't touching it.

Awesome franchise. MGS3 is my favourite. Has such a great cast of characters and a very cool story. Would love to see an MGS6 but unless Hideo Kojima was on board I would be kind of apprehensive about it.

@davillain: So you're a Kojima fan not a Metal Gear Solid fan.

@last_lap: Who said I was a Kojima fan? He's a hit or a miss. If a director has been with a franchise for this long but ends up with someone taking over, chances are that game isn't gonna be as good as from the original director.

If you were a fan of the games themselves then you would be open minded to get another game in the series.

Yeah I gotta go with this. I'm not even a huge Kojima fan, but without his creative touches in the games what are you hoping for? Does anyone think Konamis studios can deliver a metal gear solid game that'll match up? I just don't see it. Live and let die I say!
