Well, I mean...some people don't want to pay $400 dollars for a premium, so this might help them out too.DuDisNow
Well if they dont want to spend the extra $50 (probably max of what the price drop would be) for the 360 now with all the games that are already out or will be out by then I doubt that drop would push them over the edge to buy one.
I don't see it happening. MS is aiming for profits. Droping their system's price on the day it's biggest seller launches doesn't make sense.

Actually it does. MS is profiting right now from the 360. By september, we should see further price reductions. MS knows that every 360 sold is not $400 sold. It's $400 plus $50 for the extra controller plus $60 for the first game plus around $270 of other games plus whatever they pull out of XBLA. Selling a console at a lesser profit on the moment their biggest punch comes out? That means a spike to Wii-ish sales numbers and even beyond, even if it's for a month. This will hopefully get some momentum going into the holidays, which could be a cashcow (no pun intended) for MS:
The 360 will drop its price the day the PS3 does and not one minute sooner.Carmilla31
Amen to that brother. Microsoft isn't going to drop the price, the system is still selling. go to nexgenwars.com and see for yourself.
