PSA: GamePass prices go up tomorrow!

Microsoft is set to raise Xbox Game Pass prices on Thursday.

As announced last month, from July 6 prices will rise in most markets excluding Norway, Chile, Denmark, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia.

The monthly price of an Xbox Game Pass subscription for console will increase from $9.99 to $10.99 (£7.99 to £8.99 / €9.99 to €10.99).

The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate price will also increase from $14.99 per month to $16.99 (£10.99 to £12.99 / €12.99 to €14.99).

PC Game Pass pricing will not be changing at this time.

For dedicated console players interested in stacking subscriptions before the prices go up, Xbox allows users to have a maximum of 36 months of prepaid Game Pass Ultimate membership on their account.

Microsoft will also raise the price of the Xbox Series X console next month in most countries excluding the US, Japan, Chile, Brazil and Colombia.

Starting on August 1, Xbox Series X will cost £479.99 in the UK, €549.99 across most European markets, $649.99 in Canada and $799.99 in Australia.

Game Pass Ultimate is still less than I pay for PS Plus Premium.

Game Pass for PC will not see a price increase, so no point of me saving a few pennies😅

Doesn't affect me one bit as I don't rent games.

This is just MS way of testing the waters to see how much the public will pushback, and if they don't then expect more frequent price rises in the future.

@last_lap: I’ve been a member for over 2 years 😄 I used the loophole where you can convert gold to GamePass for the same price. So essentially I got GamePass Ultimate for $50 a year for three years. for that price, it’s stellar, but nah, I would not pay full price haha

@SolidGame_basic: Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't believe you. I mean, are you on PC gamepass? Because it wouldn't be Xbox gamepass, that's for sure.

Nice that PC pricing isn't changing, even though I only up when there's something I want to play.

MS rewards points cover my ultimate subscription.

I think I've only had to pay once in the last 18 months.

The last time I rented a game was from Blockbuster.

Or buy a 12 month Xbox Live Gold sub and one month of GPU and it will convert the Gold to GPU (assuming your existing subscription to GPU has expired)

Didn't even think it was worth it for $1/month. Had the option to get many more months for that price but chose not to. Just didn't use when I had it. Played a few games that I disliked, then went back to Steam.

To think 5 months back lems were once saying MS would never raise the price of GP.

nice one. like i said above , i use the rewards program and it pays for gamepass ultimate. I have enough in the can for 3 months worth at the moment but am playing Aliens dark descent at the moment.

No increase if you 'pay' in MS reward points, not yet at least. Keeping up those daily Bing searches of 'Phil Spencer is God' and 'I love you Phil' and so on for as long as I can.

You have to come to realization like I recently have that SW is like a sitcom. Very little to no one here acts like they do in the real world as they do here.
