What do you think, SW? Good idea? Bad idea? Makes me think the they can accidentally be removed when you're shuffling stuff around in your bag.

I think Joy cons are garbage, that's my take.

Nintendo so lazy they probably didn't fix joycon drift with Switch 2.

The quality of their hardware has been terrible since the Wii. I just hope that improves.

If hardware breaks after 2-3 years of normal use, the hardware is crap.

As always, I'll believe it when I see it coming from Nintendo themselves. Never take Nintendo rumors seriously until Nintendo announces things on their own. Stop relying on rumors that never pay off.

I hope they fix the joy con sticks, they are too low profile and awkwardly placed for my preference. I also think the Pro controller sucks. Despite being compatible with the old one, I hope they make an improved version.

Accessory manufacturers touched it but didn't see it? Did they bring everyone in a room with the lights off and have them feel something on a table?

Eh, not too sure about the joycons attaching magnetically. I do like the larger size and Pro Controller support though. The Pro Controller is a great controller.

Wait. Accessory manufacturers have touched the new system but haven’t looked at it? Nintendo made them close their eyes? Did they repurpose a glory hole room? Or was it like this?

As other have said: I have my doubts on the magnetic joycons. As a means of holding the tablet, it would be pretty flimsy. I could see joycons get detached accidentally and many Switch 2s landing on the floor. Though maybe that's the plan....will promote Switch 2 sales :P.

I could see magnets being used as a convenient way to join 2 joycons maybe. Have it as a replacement for the gamepad addon that came with the Switch. Unless the Joycons2s are quite a bit wider though, it would be a very cramped controller. i just held my 2 Joycons right next to each other...my poor wrists :S.

As for the Switch Pro controller support: Makes sense and having support shouldn't be a big deal to implement. I'd hazard a guess that Switch 1 joycons will also work. The big question is whether it will only work with Switch 1 games on the Switch 2. Will the Switch 2 controller setup be different enough that using a Switch 1 controller just wouldn't be practical to implement for switch 2 games?

Day 1. I'll be getting 4 new pro controllers as well if that part is true. Now let's just hear that a new Mario Kart ( how about Kart Maker?

That would be bad ass) and Super Mario Maker 3 are launch titles and its a done deal.

Even gamecube had one of the worst Dpads known to man. I love my wavebird but man... maybe Nintendo stopped releasing good controllers after N64?

Not repeating my mistake of buying the switch early. Probably gonna wait for 4+ years before thinking of one cause after few games the switch pretty much unused and there times even I forgot I own one.

Never bought the Switch as its highly overpriced and underpowered, same thing goes for the Switch 2.

Ergonomicly, the joy con was not good for adult sized hands... I was willing to put up with it because the switch provided something wonderful to my gaming lifestyle. This time around though? Meeeh.... I hope joy con 2 is a little beefier!

Indeed brilliant idea. Sadly Nintendo have taken the DLC route with tracks to rake in money. Adding a track editor would undermine that business so it's unlikely to be a thing. It would be really cool though. Some of the tracks the community makes in Trackmania are amazing.

I could see them have a track editor for a new F-Zero though as a way to attract attention and make it more distinct from mario kart. Sadly it's also unlikely that Nintendo will make a new F-Zero. Nadeo (if nintendo wanted to farm development out) could do an amazing job.

@sakaixx: Same, and for the OLED model to drop (which hopefully doesn't have the green tint issue of the Switch OLED)

@osan0: I can see a world where Super Mario Kart Maker could coexist with a new Mario Kart game kind of like new 2D Mario games exist with new games like Wonder.

They would need Mario Kart 9 to feature a new style visually and mechanically. Then they could continue updating that game after Super Mario Kart Maker released and did NOT have the style or tracks of 9 in it.

Then they would add the style and set pieces of 9 in Kart Maker 2 before releasing Mario Kart 10.

I fully expect to have at least two new styles in Mario Maker 3, most likely they will add Super Mario Brothers 2 and Super Mario Wonder. If Super Mario Kart Maker had 2-4 Kart styles but one behind the newest game it would work in exactly the same way. I could also possibly imagine a Super Mario 3D Maker, but I find it to be the least plausible as of right now. A game where you could make levels for games like Mario 64, Galaxy 1 and 2, and Odyssey.

Well, I'm glad that the Pro controller will work. I see it as a million times better than the joy-cons (which are way too small, in my view). It better not be as bad as the Wii-U's controller.

I want a handheld with a dock option to increase performance for couch gaming.

Otherwise I’ll probably pass. I’ve no time as is for Nintendo games and that’s all I dare but their consoles for.

I wish they would go back to a traditional console. Feels like I’ve been waiting forever for a proper Mario/zelda with somewhat current gen graphics.

@joshrmeyer: the last traditional console was the N64. Wake me up when that happens. We really need it.

Will Nintendo finally add a much needed achievement system? Been waiting for that forever. Switch 2 may just be my first Nintendo console since the Gamecube if they can get it right.

The GameCube was a follow up to the N64. It’s in the same category.
