What bombs do you expect MS to drop?

Now that we can expect a response from Microsoft officially detailing the XBOX at some point, what do you think Microsoft will do to counter SONY's early reveal - before AND after E3?

If the rumours about the hardware are true they will need to fight dirty to steal Sony's thunder. Spend big on exclusives and timed exclusives or hyper aggressive pricing that Sony would be unable to match given their current financial troubles. They have been outmanoeuvred on the hardware front and have made a strategic error in trying to grab the casual market that has already moved away from console gaming at the expense of the core gamers.

If they want to win the next gen they will need to buy success and suck up losses that would sink Sony if they tried to compete.

• Killer Instinct 3 [M$ attempted to re-establish copyrights not too long ago.  I smell something brewing]
• PGR5 [M$ just re-established rights to the franchise. All but guaranteed]
• Fable 4 [Without Crazy M behind the wheel, I'm curious to see where the franchise goes]

Some sort of limited BC in the 720 would also allow them a great bragging point, even if minor support, over the PS4. Perhaps just supporting XBLA content at first.

New Halo (Halo 5) teaser trailer reveal. The game may release 2014, but showing that at the end of the conference, even a poor Kinect 2 focused conference, will ensure posters in SW will remember they actually loved the entire show. Even if the show was mostly riddled with explaining by the suits on why great Kinect 2/HD is so great, and how we are going to need it next generation. They will of course show Forza probably as well, maybe even GeoW something (no mas cliffy B tho).

Another thing they could do is put in 16GB of RAM, even if it's not BA GDDR5 RAM, and people will flip out in SW at least for the next say, six years based on the 16GB vs. 8GB. It's also crucial to remember that 720 Rumors did put the 720 at 4GB, but that I'm sure is changing now. Of course, I think with cost, they may just go 8GB matching the PS4 8GB, but perhaps not spending the dough to go GDDR5. The idea is their software dept. could make up the slack where Sony's hardware advantages come into play.

I think for sure now the idea of no used games will be killed off. The Wii U and PS4 support used games, M$ can't afford to be the only console in town not doing used games.

A low price point, probably two models will be revealed.

Also, perhaps a new Xbox Live Tier is introduced, like a suggestion of mine from 2005, Xbox Live Platinum.

I expect MS to disappoint and yet will probably be successful anyway in spite of themselves. They really don't need to have better hardware than Sony to win. But I do expect them to be BC with the 360 since the XBL platform seems to be designed for that. Expect them to make that a bulletpoint.

I don't expect MS to make a major departure from the 360 like they did with the Xbox as the platform has been very successful for them. It'll be more powerful but mainly they will just improve the things that worked for them. I read somewhere that the hardware is designed to scale and I'm sure that that included a roadmap to the new gen hardware. I would really be surprised if the 360 doesn't have BC for XBLA games at the very least. XBL was probably one of the best realized features of the console.

This year's E3 is going to be a good one.

Raise the price of Xbox Live again in order to give us a better value for paying to access paid services like Netflix and Hulu that we can access for free on nearly a 100 other devices. (No, really that was their logic when they raised the price from $50 to $60 a year)
