Very nice to see indeed. I just recently got into the Yakuza franchise with Yakuza 0 on the Xbox and picked up Yakuza: Like a Dragon as well of which I’m currently playing and enjoying very much. I’ll be just buying these other games to enjoy at my leisure. I’m going to have so much Yakuza to play through now it’s crazy.

Gamepass is my go to for playing an array of games. The stream of games is pretty darn good.

@mandzilla: Yakuza. Have a couple bought, but this seems like a better starting point.

I wish they announced this sooner. I bought the Yakuza collection (3,4,5) on the PS4 even though I don't own one. I bought it to play on the PS5 when I get one. Had I known, I would have just waited for it to hit Xbox and play natively rather than through backward compatibility.

Oh okay, you're gonna have a blast with them. :) I started out on Yakuza 0 because others had suggested to do so, and they're really fun games.

Sadly I can't get into Yakuza games but in a way it's a relief too, because lately most games coming into Gamepass went to my backlog folder. This ones I'll skip.

Yea. Doubt it matters much what order do them in, but it kinda just seems like the right thing to do.

If you haven't played it yet, you should start from 0. The series is really unique and fun.

Thats what I did. Played Yakuza 0 through 6 and then Like a Dragon. Great games, but if you plan on playing all, it's a huge time sink. My favorites were 0, 6, and Like a Dragon! 5 was pretty good, but very long.

You seem to have taken the right approach. I'm messed up. My order is 5, 0, Kiwami, 6, Kiwami 2, 3, 4, and now I'm starting 7. And I agree that if you don't have the time, 0 and 6 are probably the best to play. In this series, the story is completed for each work like Fast & Furious, so knowledge of the previous games is not required so much as far as you've played 0.

How's 7? Do you enjoy the turn-based battle?

Yea, I really liked Like a Dragon. The combat for the most part is fun, but can be very repetitive if you choose to go with the same classes. It's more fun if you change it up, but at the same time, you don't get a good opportunity to grind until later in the game. Some of the later dungeons give you a lot more XP which makes progressing through jobs a lot easier. As far as the story, I liked Ichiban, and if you played previous Yakuza games, it pays off. There are recurring characters and the plot ties into the Yakuza storyline. It is a different direction (and tone) for the series though. I kinda wish it was its own thing. I still really like the beat em up style of the previous games. I hope they can somehow manage to do both.

@SolidGame_basic: I see. It sounds like there are some issues with the RPG elements, but overall it seems like a fun game at least for a Yakuza fan like me. It's good to hear that someone who’ve played through the previous series liked Ichiban. It's hard to to replace Kiryu, so guess the dev. did a good job for that. As for combat, I also prefer beat'em up over turn-based, but yeah it's interesting to see which direction the next game will go or do hybrid as you say. Anyways, I'm excited to play through it.
