Galleon, overall, trully succeeds in creating one of the most ambitious and underrated games on the market.

User Rating: 8.2 | Galleon XBOX
Galleon was in development for a very long time and for just about every platform there was too. It is now finally hear on the Xbox and let me say it is great. You play as a swashbuckling sailor named Rhama, who can do a variety of crazy moves thanks to some special training he had. Some of these moves include the ability to jump great distances and scale up walls. It may sound kind of cheesy but it actually works rather well. One of the most impressive aspects of Galleon are the levels. They are huge, open-ended and the draw distance is amazing. It is too bad, though, that the rest of the graphics do look that good. The textures are bland and the character models are poorly designed, but their animation is pretty good. The sound is made great by solid voice acting and all sorts of atmospheric sound effects. Galleon will take you somewhere between 8-12 hours to finish it, depending on how much you explore the areas surrounding you. Once you beat the game you unlock a arena battle mode which you can lose a couple of hours in. After you beat the game, you can also go back and explore the levels to try to find all the hidden treasures and items, but there is not much reason to. A couple of small complaints against Galleon is that the camera is automatic, meaning you have no control over it. Another is that Rhama can be very hard to control, meaning you'll die more than you should in tight areas where you can fall easily. But these problems don't affect gameplay too much though. Overall, Galleon truly succeeds in creating one of the most ambitious and underrated games on the market. If this type of game interests you, it is a definite must buy.
