Showcase Mode has become a mainstay of the WWE 2K series, and in WWE 2K24, the developers are using the historical mode to walk players down Memory Lane once more. But this time, it's not focused on any one WWE superstar. Instead, it covers many of the past four decades of WrestleMania's greatest moments.
With more than a dozen matches featured in the mode, some are being left as surprises for launch day, so come back on March 4 to view the complete list of WWE 2K24 Showcase matches.
For now, we're able to reveal the first seven matches, which puts players in the shoes of legends like Ricky Steamboat, Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, and more.
If you're more of an Attitude Era kid or Ruthless Aggression fan, don't worry, this mode travels chronologically through WrestleMania history, and on March 4 you'll see that your favorite eras are well covered, too.
Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage - WrestleMania III
The first match in WWE 2K24's Showcase mode is an eternal classic for the Intercontinental Championship: Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat vs. "Macho Man" Randy Savage from WrestleMania III. The bitter rivalry between the two legendary Superstars began six months earlier when Savage sent Steamboat to the hospital after crushing his larynx in a vicious attack. After several more bloody clashes, the long-running feud eventually culminated in a championship bout at 1987's Showcase of the Immortals, as Savage put his 14-month reign as Intercontinental Champion on the line.
Completing all 14 objectives throughout the match unlocks "Macho Man" Randy Savage, his manager Miss Elizabeth, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, and George "The Animal" Steele.
Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant - WrestleMania III
The Irresistible Force vs. The Immovable Object. WWE 2K24's second Showcase match pits the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Hulk Hogan, against his former friend and towering challenger, Andre The Giant. This legendary main event is immortalized by the everlasting image of Hogan bodyslamming the 520 lb Andre, but the feud began in the months leading up to WrestleMania III, when Andre betrayed Hogan by joining forces with his long-time adversary, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. With Andre's 15-year unbeaten streak and Hogan's three-year reign as World Heavyweight Champion both on the line, this was a main event worthy of WrestleMania.
Completing all 11 objectives unlocks Hulk Hogan, Andre The Giant, manager Bobby "The Brain" Heenan with his WrestleMania III attire, and the WrestleMania III arena.
Rick Rude vs. The Ultimate Warrior - WrestleMania V
The third match in WWE 2K24's Showcase mode jumps ahead a few years to WrestleMania V, as "Ravishing" Rick Rude takes on The Ultimate Warrior for the Intercontinental Championship. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan is back, this time in the corner of the challenger, Rick Rude. This feud kicked off a few months earlier when both men faced each other in a Super Posedown at the 1989 Royal Rumble. The Ultimate Warrior won the posedown--as decided by fan reaction--angering Rude, who unleashed a furious attack on Warrior. With revenge on his mind and the Intercontinental title on the line, the two muscle-bound Superstars faced off on the grandest stage of them all.
Completing all 13 objectives unlocks The Ultimate Warrior, "Ravishing" Rick Rude, and the WrestleMania V attire for manager Booby "The Brain" Heenan.
Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Savage - WrestleMania V
The Mega Powers collide in Showcase mode's fourth match, which sees Hulk Hogan and "Macho Man" Randy Savage square off in the main event of WrestleMania V. For much of the previous year, the two larger-than-life Superstars were a unified team, referring to themselves as The Mega Powers. After Savage won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship with Hogan's help at WrestleMania IV, the pair feuded with several heel tag teams throughout 1988, until tensions eventually started boiling to the surface. Savage's valet, Miss Elizabeth, was the primary source of the pair's gradual uneasiness, with Savage often angered by Hogan putting her in harm's way. This all came to a head at WrestleMania V, as the Mega Powers clashed in a match for Savage's World Heavyweight title.
Completing all 17 objectives unlocks the WrestleMania V attires for Hulk Hogan, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, and Miss Elizabeth, plus the WrestleMania V arena.
The Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan - WrestleMania VI
Hulkamania is still running wild in Showcase mode's fifth match, as Hulk Hogan takes on The Ultimate Warrior in the main event of WrestleMania VI. After a brief, teasing encounter at the 1990 Royal Rumble, Hogan challenged The Ultimate Warrior to determine who was the strongest force in WWE: Hulkamania or the Power of Warrior. This set up a winner-takes-all match at WrestleMania VI, with Warrior's Intercontinental Championship and Hogan's World Heavyweight Championship both on the line.
Completing all 18 objectives unlocks the WrestleMania VI attires for Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior, plus the WrestleMania VI arena.
Roddy Piper vs. Bret Hart - WrestleMania VIII
The sixth match in WWE 2K24's Showcase mode sees Bret "Hit Man" Hart go up against "Rowdy" Roddy Piper at WrestleMania VIII for the Intercontinental Championship. Hart previously won the gold at SummerSlam 1991 before losing it to the hated Mountie while suffering from a 100-degree temperature. His close friend, Piper, then challenged the loudmouth Canadian villain and won, capturing his first singles championship in WWE. A match between the two was soon announced for WrestleMania VIII, but Piper initially refused to fight his friend. Hart eventually convinced him otherwise, but The Hot Rod vowed to scratch, claw, and brawl to keep the title, adding intensity to a battle between two babyfaces.
Completing all 17 objectives unlocks Bret "Hit Man" Hart '92, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, and the WrestleMania VIII arena.
Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels - WrestleMania X
The next match in WWE 2K24's Showcase mode is another legendary Intercontinental Championship bout, this time between Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania X. The feud between The Bad Guy and The Heartbreak Kid started a few months earlier when Michaels was stripped of the Intercontinental Championship for not defending it enough. Ramon won the title by emerging victorious in a battle royal and then defeating the other finalist, Rick Martel, in a singles match. However, Michaels refused to acknowledge the title change, insisting he was the true Intercontinental Champion because he was never defeated. With both men carrying championship belts and calling the other a phony, a unification match was set for WrestleMania X with the added stimulation that it was just the second ladder match in WWE history.
Completing all 16 objectives unlocks Razor Ramon, Shawn Michaels, Diesel, Diesel's WrestleMania X attire, and the WrestleMania X arena.
Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin - WrestleMania 13
One of the greatest matches of all time is next in WWE 2K24's Showcase mode, as Bret "Hit Man" Hart and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin clashed in a bloody submission match at WrestleMania 13. This grudge match was the culmination of a months-long feud between the two legendary Superstars. Austin kickstarted the rivalry by taunting Hart--who was inactive at the time--after winning the 1996 King of the Ring tournament. When Hart returned, the two faced each other at Survivor Series, where Hart defeated the Texas Rattlesnake.
They would later square off at the 1997 Royal Rumble, with Austin eliminating The Hit Man after the match officials missed his own elimination. Both men were then participants in a Four Corners Elimination match for the vacant WWE Championship, which Hart won. Yet his reign was short-lived, as Austin interfered the next night on Raw, costing Hart the title in a match against Psycho Sid. This set the stage for a no-rules submission match to settle the fierce rivalry.
Completing all 17 objectives unlocks Stone Cold Steve Austin, Bret "Hit Man" Hart WrestleMania 13 attire, Ken Shamrock, Ken Shamrock Special Enforcer attire, and the WrestleMania 13 arena.
Steve Austin vs. The Rock - WrestleMania 17
WrestleMania 17 is considered by many as the pinnacle of the Attitude Era, and the main event saw its two biggest stars collide in a memorable contest for the WWE Championship. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. The Rock concluded the legendary event, marking the second of three encounters between the pair at the showcase of the immortals.
After returning from a lengthy injury spell caused by Rikishi running him over with a car, Austin won the 2001 Royal Rumble to earn a shot at The Rock's WWE Championship. In truth, there wasn't much more to the buildup than this; the magnitude of the match spoke for itself. The Texas Rattlesnake vs. The Brahma Bull to wrap a bow on the Attitude Era. What more could you ask for?
Completing all 17 objectives unlocks The Rock '01, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin '01, and the WrestleMania 17 arena.
Eddie Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle - WrestleMania XX
The next match jumps forward another few years to WrestleMania XX and a clash between Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle. After the invasion angle and subsequent brand split, this was the main feud for the Smackdown brand as the two men went head-to-head for the WWE Championship. The bad blood started a few months earlier when Guerrero won a 15-man Royal Rumble match by eliminating Angle, thus earning a shot at the WWE Championship.
At No Way Out, Guerrero took that opportunity and defeated Brock Lesnar to win the gold, while Angle came out on top against The Big Show and John Cena to earn a title shot of his own at WrestleMania. From then on, Angle attacked Guerrero every chance he could, setting up their classic match at WrestleMania XX.
Completing all 18 objectives unlocks Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle, and the WrestleMania XX arena.
Kurt Angle vs Shawn Michaels - WrestleMania 21
With no championships on the line, the next match in WWE 2K24's Showcase mode is about bragging rights, with Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels going head-to-head in a dream match at WrestleMania 21. The feud started two months earlier at the Royal Rumble when Michaels eliminated Angle from the titular match. This sent the Olympic gold medalist into a fury, as he retaliated by unleashing a furious attack on Michaels. The Heartbreak Kid would then challenge Angle to a match at WrestleMania, which Angle accepted by attacking Michaels again on Raw.
The animosity only heightened from here, with Angle claiming he was better than Michaels and would prove it by accomplishing everything he had, only much sooner. He then won a ladder match, tapped out Michaels' former tag team partner Marty Jannetty, and put his former manager, Sensational Sherri, in the Ankle Lock. Plus, who can forget Angle's rendition of "Sexy Kurt"--a spoof of Michaels' classic theme song. With the acrimony at boiling point, the pair clashed as WrestleMania went Hollywood.
Completing all 16 objectives unlocks Shawn Michaels '05, Kurt Angle WrestleMania 21 attire, and the WrestleMania 21 arena.
The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels - WrestleMania 25
Mr. WrestleMania is featured once again in Showcase mode's 12th match, as Shawn Michaels takes on The Undertaker and his undefeated streak at WrestleMania 25. The two legendary Superstars had battled a few times before this epic contest, with Michaels emerging unbeaten against The Deadman. With his feud against JBL wrapped up, Michaels was in high spirits and challenged The Undertaker to a match at WrestleMania, hoping to be the one to end The Phenom's 16-0 WrestleMania undefeated streak.
Because of their history, HBK wasn't intimidated by The Undertaker and played up the light vs. dark aspect of their rivalry, delving into mind games in the weeks leading up to WrestleMania 25 and what would be one of the greatest matches of all time.
Completing all 20 objectives unlocks The Undertaker '09, Shawn Michaels '09, and the WrestleMania 25 arena.
The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar - WrestleMania XXX
It's the match that shocked the world, as The Undertaker put his WrestleMania undefeated streak on the line against The Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar, at WrestleMania XXX. A few weeks before the big event, Lesnar and his manager, Paul Heyman, complained about not being in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania. The Authority--who was in charge at the time--offered Lesnar a contract to face anyone else at the showcase of the immortals.
Before Lesnar could choose his opponent, however, The Undertaker interrupted and confronted The Beast. Lesnar would sign the contract to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX, before being chokeslammed through a table for his efforts. The buildup was light, but it set up a match where Lesnar would challenge Taker's vaunted 21-0 undefeated streak at the biggest show of the year.
Completing all 16 objectives unlocks The Undertaker '14, manager Paul Heyman WrestleMania XXX attire, and the WrestleMania XXX arena.
Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins - WrestleMania 31
Known for the greatest RKO of all time, the next match occurs between rivals Randy Orton and Seth Rollins in the sunshine of WrestleMania 31. Originally, the two men were both part of The Authority, with Rollins joining the heel stable after betraying The Shield. Dissension gradually formed between the two, however, as Orton grew dissatisfied with the attention Rollins was getting from Triple H.
After attacking each other numerous times, Orton demanded a match to settle their dispute, which Triple H agreed to. Rollins won the match but then attacked Orton with a Curb Stomp, causing an injury that would rule The Viper out for several months. When we returned, their rivalry was renewed, resulting in Orton challenging Rollins to a match at WrestleMania 31.
Completing all 17 objectives unlocks Randy Orton '15, Seth Rollins '15, and the WrestleMania 31 arena (day.)
Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar - WrestleMania 31
The main event of WrestleMania 31 was a mighty clash between Roman Reigns and reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, even if Seth Rollins would eventually steal the show by accomplishing the heist of the century. To set up the bout, Reigns won the 2015 Royal Rumble match, granting him a shot at Lesnar's title. Fan reaction to his victory was almost entirely negative, so Reigns agreed to put his number one contendership on the line against fan-favorite Daniel Bryan at Fastlane.
Despite the negative atmosphere, Reigns defeated Bryan and began feuding with Lesnar. There wasn't much buildup from this point, with the two men rarely appearing on the same show. The most memorable moment occurred during an episode of Raw when Lesnar and Reigns engaged in an awkward tug-of-war for the championship belt. Nonetheless, all of this would lead to one of the most exciting endings to a main event in WrestleMania history.
Completing all 11 objectives unlocks Roman Reigns '15, manager Paul Heyman WrestleMania 31 attire, and the WrestleMania 31 arena (night.)
Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey - WrestleMania 35
The first women's match to feature in WWE 2K24's Showcase mode is a winner-takes-all triple threat match from the historic main event of WrestleMania 35. At SummerSlam the previous year, Lynch and Flair competed in a triple threat match against defending Smackdown Women's Champion Carmella, which Flair won. After the match, Lynch attacked the victor and would later defeat Flair for the championship at Hell in a Cell, before successfully defending her title in a Last Woman Standing match against Flair at Evolution. At Survivor Series, Flair fought Raw Women's Champion Ronda Rousey in a non-title match, which she lost after attacking Rousey with various weapons.
This led to the former MMA star interfering in a championship match between Lynch, Flair, and Asuka at Tables, Ladders, and Chairs, costing both Lynch and Flair the match. Lynch then won the women's Royal Rumble match by eliminating Flair, opting to challenge Rousey for the Raw Women's Championship at WrestleMania.
Lynch injured her knee in the process of winning the Royal Rumble match and was suspended for refusing medical examination, leading to her being replaced by Flair in the title match at WrestleMania. Over the next few weeks, Lynch would violate her suspension by attacking Flair and Rousey. When the suspension was eventually lifted, Lynch defeated Flair at Fastlane, winning by disqualification due to being attacked by Rousey. This added her back into the match at WrestleMania, turning it into a triple threat match between all three women.
After Flair won the Smackdown Women's Championship by beating Asuka, it became a winner-takes-all match for both women's titles, and the first women's match to ever main event WrestleMania.
Completing all 16 objectives unlocks Becky Lynch '19, Charlotte Flair '19, Ronda Rousey, and the WrestleMania 35 arena.
Firefly Fun House: The Fiend Bray Wyatt vs. John Cena - WrestleMania 36
The strangest and most unique WrestleMania occurred in 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic forced WrestleMania 36 behind closed doors and into an empty WWE Performance Centre. The Firefly Fun House is a fitting inclusion, then, as the strangest and most unique match on the card. John Cena, who had returned to the WWE for the first time in half a year, addressed his role at WrestleMania during a February episode of SmackDown.
After seemingly announcing his retirement and stating that WrestleMania spots should be earned, he was confronted by The Fiend Bray Wyatt, who challenged Cena to a match at the big event. The pair previously collided at WrestleMania XXX, with Cena emerging with a hard-fought victory. Wyatt was out for revenge, plunging Cena into the disturbing world of the Firefly Fun House and a cinematic clash.

Steve Austin vs. Kevin Owens - WrestleMania 38
The 18th match in WWE 2K24's Showcase mode sees "Stone Cold" Steve Austin make his return to the squared circle, 19 years after his in-ring retirement. This white-hot feud began when Kevin Owens realized he was on the outside looking in and faced the prospect of missing out on WrestleMania 38. His desperate pleading to Raw management fell on deaf ears, so The Prizefighter decided to take matters into his own hands by attempting to coax a Texas Rattlesnake out of hiding.
Owens spent weeks offending the state of Texas, delivering insult after insult until Austin finally responded. Owens had awakened something dormant in the WWE Hall of Famer, setting up an almighty clash and a WrestleMania classic.
Completing all 16 objectives unlocks Kevin Owens WrestleMania 38 attire, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, and the WrestleMania 38 arena.
Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair - WrestleMania 39
This is the first of three matches included from 2023's WrestleMania 39, and is notable for being the first women's WrestleMania rematch in history. Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair previously fought at Wrestlemania 36, after Flair won the women's Royal Rumble match and challenged Rhea for her NXT Women's Championship.
Flair would win that night, marking the first of multiple victories over Ripley. So when Mami won the 2023 Royal Rumble, it only made sense that she would challenge Flair for the SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania 39. Could Ripley avoid the Figure Eight and beat Flair one-on-one for the first time in her career?
Completing all 17 objectives unlocks Rhea Ripley WrestleMania 39 attire and Charlotte Flair WrestleMania 39 attire.
Bianca Belair vs. Asuka - WrestleMania 39
The second women's championship match at WrestleMania 39 was for Bianca Belair's Raw Women's Championship. Asuka would challenge the EST of WWE after winning the women's Elimination Chamber match to earn a shot at the title. From then on, the buildup for this match was lackluster, with a few predictable attacks and staredowns between the two women. Once the bell rang at WrestleMania, however, this mattered little, as two of the best Superstars in WWE clashed in another memorable matchup.
Completing all 16 objectives unlocks Bianca Belair WrestleMania 39 attire, Asuka WrestleMania 39 attire, and the WrestleMania 39 arena (day.)
Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns - WrestleMania 39
WrestleMania 39's main event was an exciting match between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The Tribal Chief won the title a year earlier after retaining his SmackDown's Universal Championship and winning Raw's WWE Championship at WrestleMania 38. Earlier, at the same event, Rhodes returned to WWE after six years away, and on the Raw after WrestleMania, announced that he returned to win the WWE championship, not just for himself but also for his late father, Dusty Rhodes. After winning the 2023 men's Royal Rumble match, the American Nightmare earned a shot at Reigns' title at WrestleMania 39.
At this point, Reigns and his special counsel, Paul Heyman, made things personal, with Heyman stating that Dusty told him Reigns was the son he always wanted. Would Rhodes finish the story, or would Reigns continue his historic championship run?
