Worst Game on PC

Unfortunately, not all games can be good, but some turn out to be especially poor. These are the games that aren't forgotten as quickly as the many lackluster games that are published each season; these particularly bad games gain notoriety for being so remarkably flawed. They're not necessarily disappointing, since no one really expected much of them in the first place, but then again, no one could have been prepared for just how lousy these games turned out to be. It's a regrettable commendation, but even so, GameSpot now presents you with the Worst PC Game of the Year:

Demonworld: Dark Armies

Publisher: Xicat Interactive
Developer: Ikarion

There have been a handful of games this year that are so bad that all we can do is warn you to stay away from them. Far away. Any of our nominees for Worst Game on PC would make you quake in fear at the mere sight of them, but one game especially stands out: Demonworld: Dark Armies, a real-time strategy game that's so incredibly bad that it truly must be the work of the devil. Disturbingly, some of the menu screens in the game refer to it as "Demonworld II," while others just say Demonworld. One can only hope that the "II" is a typo and that there actually aren't two Demonworld games unleashed on this earth. At any rate, the publisher of Demonworld: Dark Armies didn't even bother to translate the entire game into English. Textures throughout the game look awful, you can count the number of frames of animation for a unit on one hand, and graphical glitches abound. The controls are also impossibly clunky. But that's not a big deal because the AI is incredibly dumb. Sometimes whole stacks of units will just sit still while an ally two feet away is fighting. So please, take our word for it: Don't play this game.

Other Nominees:

Ambulance Driver
Arthur's Quest: Battle for the Kingdom
Revolution
Sniper: Path of Vengeance
