Raven Software and Activision's Star Trek - Voyager: Elite Force combines the vast Star Trek universe with id software's dazzling Quake III graphics engine to create an exciting first-person shooter, blending adventure, exploration and intense combat action. The player assumes membership in the Elite Force Hazard Team, a group of security and engineering personnel formed by Lt. Commander Tuvok specifically trained to handle dangerous conditions and hostile environments.
The Federation starship Voyager responded to a distress signal sent from a derelict vessel. A sensor scan from Voyager triggered some sort of defense mechanism on the derelict ship. The defensive attack sent Voyager into an uncharted region of space and trapped the Federation vessel inside a gravitational dampening field. Captain Janeway has authorized the activation of the Elite Force Hazard Team to investigate the source of this gravitational field in the hope that Voyager can cut free and resume the journey home.
