The Sunken Shrine

Items in this area: Sacri crystal, moonberry, sacres crystal

There's a long path leading into the shrine from the air landing. Once you get inside, you can see that the moonstone impact did a serious number on the structural integrity of the building, punching a hole through the wall and flooding the lower levels. Since Aika can't swim, your best bet is to drain the water and retrieve the stone from a dry area. Take the spiral staircase up to the second level and step outside to activate the crystal, which powers up and lowers the structure to grant you access to different areas.

Step back inside and retrace your steps. The original entrance to the shrine is now below the ground level of the island, letting you travel along the exterior catwalks beneath the island. Follow the path outside down and around to a set of huge doors that, when opened, release a huge flood of water. You can now enter the previously water-logged doors to gain access to a new section of the shrine.

Open the large doors and drain the flooded shrine to advance.
Run to the left and step outside through the nearby doors to find a chest; come back in and head in the opposite direction to find another exit in a higher area. Travel the outer platforms again. By this point, Aika should have learned her alpha storm skill, which is incredibly useful for clearing out multiple-creature enemy parties. Because it hits a row of enemies with the power of a physical blow, it can make battles proceed much more quickly. However, when you encounter parties that include the giant grouder fish, it's best to use Vyse's cutlass fury to speed things along.

Don't miss the chest to the right of the ladder as you continue along the path. When you finally come to a save point by a door, you should save before advancing. When you open the final door to drain away the water and move toward the moonstone, you'll be greeted by a deadly automaton which has been lying in ruin but seems to have lost none of its power.

Boss Battle: Sentinel - 1,200 Hit Points

The sentinel packs a serious punch, both literally and figuratively. Its most dangerous attack is the blaster gun that can strike either Aika or Vyse for upward of 300 hit points. Luckily, it's easy to reduce the damage you take; the sentinel always uses target search in the round before firing its blaster, so always guard whenever you see target search. Save up spirit points for cutlass fury and use sacri crystals to heal when your hit points drop below 300. The sentinel counterattacks frequently, so keep that in mind when you use straight physical strikes. When you defeat the sentinel, you'll receive a moonberry and the raw moonstone.

Valuan Vengeance

The armada's raid on Pirates Island necessitates a rescue attempt into the impenetrable Valuan grand fortress, but Vyse and Aika's journey there is interrupted by an unfortunate turn of events. A chance rescue introduces the pair to Drachma, who will reluctantly join the party and introduce the basics of ship-to-ship combat before heading into the depths of Valua.

Rescue Scramble

When Vyse and Aika return to Pirates Island, they find their home a smoking ruin. Although no one is hurt, all the men are missing, having been abducted in a Valuan raid. Speak to Vyse's mother in Dyne's office and learn the details. Then, prepare for a rescue mission.

Swashbuckler opportunity: Vow to try and save everyone.

Swashbuckler opportunity: Encourage Lindsi by telling her you promise to return.

Take the skiff north beyond Shrine Island. Your path to Valua can be seen through a tunnel in the rock face to the north. Unfortunately, before you arrive, you're thrown off course by a sudden fog and a massive arcwhale that threatens to capsize your vessel.

Swashbuckler opportunity: Explore the better part of valor by opting to retreat.

Aboard the Little Jack

After your unsuccessful escape attempt, you come to on the deck of a fishing boat with a sullen, angry older man staring down at you. Since your skiff is demolished, you must earn your keep aboard his vessel by doing some manual labor. Carry the two large boxes from the lower hold up to the bridge, and the captain, Drachma, will chat with you, albeit tersely. He also gives you control of his ship, the Little Jack, and lets you use his blue moonstone.

North of the rocky tunnel is a small island with a lighthouse, Sailors Island. There's also a discovery to be found to the north; if you track it down, you can sell information on it at the guild on Sailors Island.
