The Green Moon

Upon securing the first crystal, the party ventures into lands rarely seen by denizens of the mid ocean: the green continent, Ixa'taka. Once again, the danger of the Valuan armada exists along with the possible presence of an ancient gigas. To make matters worse, the route to Ixa'taka through the turbulent south ocean leads to a distrustful and suspicious civilization.

South Ocean and Beyond

Items in this area: Sacri box, sacri crystal x25, moonberry, paranta seed

With the red crystal in hand, it's time to set out for a new land: the rumored green continent that lies beyond the treacherous south ocean. Although the Little Jack is strong enough to survive the swirling chaos here, it will still be a rough ride. The south ocean has incredible gusts of wind that will slow your progress to a halt if you relent on pressing forward. To make matters even more difficult, enemies with the ability to kill instantly will beset you ceaselessly. On the plus side, you can earn a great deal of experience through these battles - and with luck, you can win the rare Silvite ring, one of the most helpful items in the game.

The stormy south ocean is slow going, thanks to headwinds and constant enemy encounters. Persevere, and you'll reach a new land.
Endure the sluggish progress through south ocean; eventually, you'll see leaves being carried in the wind, which is your sign that you're nearing your goal: the lost continent, Ixa'taka.

When you arrive, you'll see a large island with a settlement to the northeast. Make a landing here at Horteka, the seat of Ixa'takan civilization. After meeting you, the population distrusts you, thinking you to be the same ilk as the Valuans. You know this isn't true, but the only way to convince the Hortekans is to speak to their de facto leader, the elder. The village elder lives in the inn in the back part of town; reach it by traveling down past the weapons shop and through the covered portal to the south. The elder is willing to trust you, but the villagers are more reserved. Fortunately, you can upgrade your weapons and armor now as well as buy the tremendously useful sacrum crystals. There's a cham by the north exit to town; beyond this exit is a small habitation of fellow Blue Rogues who have crashed. Their captain, a man named Centime, has been abducted by the Valuans. There are several treasures throughout town, including a chest with 25 sacri crystals on the deck of Centime's ship and several things to be found around the large tree in the center of town.

Once you've seen all Horteka has to offer, take the Little Jack northward to the king's hideout. The hideout is easy to find, as it's almost directly north of Horteka and is located on an island marked by a tree, hovering between two high buttes. You may wish to speak to the ship between Horteka and the hideout - the black market dealer will offer you a chance to sell discoveries and upgrade your ship with some helpful accessories for the battles ahead - the first of which happens as you approach the hideout.

Aerial Battle: De Loco and Chameleon

De Loco relies on special weapons, such as the flamethrower. Like the red gigas, he can be thrown off-balance.
This battle is far less challenging than the Lynx. Although De Loco uses many advanced weapons, the only one that hits hard is the flamethrower, and that can be made to miss if you pour a heavy concentration of gunfire into the turn immediately before he uses the weapon. Use your normal tactics and build up spirit for the S-cannon, and De Loco will soon run away with his tail between his legs, figuratively speaking.

With De Loco's demented deforestation plan in hand, you can meet with the king. The king would be willing to help if he could, but the true expert on moon crystals is the high priest, who has also been abducted by Valua and is being kept captive in Moonestone Mountain to the southwest. Grab the cham in the hut and head toward the Valuan mine to find the man with the master plan.
