The Final Showdown

All the pieces are in place, and Galcian's schemes are revealed. The former Valuan admiral holds the advantages and possesses the means to make good on his ambitions. Vyse and his team set out to put a stop to Galcian's plot before he can devastate the entire world with the combined power of the six moon crystals.

Return to Dangral Island

On your way back to Dangral Island, drop by Sailors Island, where some impressive equipment is on sale. Most of it is penultimate gear, but it's the best stuff money can buy. Once outfitted and upgraded, head back to Dangral Island. Once again the enemy ranks will be fairly thin, so head to the lowest level, where the large open bay facing into the deep sky is located. The elevator project that was just beginning earlier is now complete, so take the lift to the island at the end of the line. Just be aware that you must fight Vigoro on the way there, and this time, he's got his cannon and armor.

Boss Battle: Vigoro - 14,500 Hit Points

Vigoro's playing for keeps this time. His cannon fire skill can strip 3,000 hit points from a character in a single blast, and random fire hits multiple characters for 1,500 or so points. Keep your hit points high to stay out of immediate danger and work on building up your spirit points to use pirate's wrath or at least gunslinger and cutlass fury. Don't bother with Gilder's skill called the Claudia; it's only half as effective as pirate's wrath and costs nearly as many spirit points. Vigoro shouldn't be overly difficult to defeat if you stay on your toes, and he accepts defeat the only way he knows how - like a man.

Continue your descent into the elevator area by ladder and elevator. You will be unhampered by enemies, but it's a fairly long trip as you're covering a huge amount of ground. Save at the anchor icon and pass into Soltis, where you will find Galcian and Ramirez awakening the lost continent. To impede you, they throw a huge enemy in your way.

Boss Battle: Eliminator - 20,600 hit points

This creature is a carbon copy of the sentinel you faced on Shrine Island long ago - the difference being that this monster has a ton of hit points and packs a major wallop. Its attacks are exactly the same as sentinel's (with the addition of the stone status-inflicting laser blast), but it's much more tenacious and aggressive in using them. Vyse's pirates wrath will be your best asset; boosted with increm, you can shave a quarter of the eliminator's hit points with a single strike.

Although the eliminator wasn't much of a threat, it was sufficient to distract the party while the villains woke Zelos and reactivated Soltis. All you can do now is run like the wind to get the heck out of Dodge. Scramble up the girders before they can fall and regroup aboard Delphinus. Your initial assault on Soltis is rebuffed by the dome of light that surrounds the island; nothing you can do can break through the barrier, which was designed to withstand the power of a gigas. Return to Crescent Island to find motivation to continue.

Swashbuckler opportunity: Tell your new fleet "Let's show Galcian what we're made of!"

During the night, Belleza takes her leave, as she refuses to fight her own men who have sided with Galcian. She encourages you to go comfort Fina and Aika. Fina is standing by the flag, while Aika is looking out over the island from the cliff face. Speak to each to share your thoughts, and the girls will each react in her own way.

Swashbuckler opportunity: Admit to Aika that you're scared, too.

Swashbuckler opportunity: Say nothing to Fina, but simply put your arm around her.

Before leaving the next day, take a moment to look around the island. If you've upgraded Ryu-Kan's forge for him, shop for the good stuff he's created. Additionally, you can drop some serious cash at Ilchymis' lab on status-boosting items. You may want to purchase enough vidal seeds to bring the girls' hit points equal to Vyse and enough paranta seeds to make Aika as strong as Vyse or Gilder.

Swashbuckler opportunity: Anything you say here is going to sound pretty darned heroic.

Aerial Battle: Valuan Mage Ship

This is the exact same ship that has been patrolling the northern areas of Valua since your first visit to the Maw of Tartus. If you can't defeat it within a single round, you should hand over the Delphinus to someone less embarrassing.
