Great value; 2 classic games updated for the ps3
These were 2 games I had never played. I saw them in action, but never quite felt drawn to them at their prime, not even friends and nephews began raving about them.
Then part 3 came out, and for some strange reason it seemed like I was missing out on something. Boy, am I glad I decided to pick this up!
The graphics aren't quite up to par -- especially the cut scenes -- but it doesn't really matter. The elegance of the gameplay, the creativity of the puzzles, and the Imaginative story and setting more than make up for the rest -- IN SPADES.
This is a value pack that will give you hours of fun, with just the right amount of combat and puzzle solving mixed in. You never feel any tediousness or repetitiveness going on, and that for me is a big thing in a platforming game. While puzzles are extremely challenging and some bosses are rather difficult, none feel impossible with patterns becoming obvious after a few tries. In fact, I would have rated this easy were it not for some timing-based platforming scattered throughout both games.
In and through all of the action is a story that will take you from manhood to the sublime and back again and leave you hungry for more. Now, if I can only spare the time for part 3....
