Parts of Gotham City Imposters are alot of fun, but you need to play it for 100's of hours to play the rest of the game

First of all, I don't play First-Person shooters much, so don't trust my opinion, that the FPS genre isn't the most original out there. So, maybe, Gotham City Imposters will change all of that right? It has a unique feel to it, some interesting gameplay concepts, while providing quality gameplay at the same time. I mean there's nothing that can go wrong with this game, right? Wrong.

Gotham City Imposters has nothing to do, plot-wise, with other Batman games. It's about two gangs: the Bats, and Jokerz. These gangs, who are obviously based on Batman and Joker, face of every now and then, in heated firefights in locations, ranging from a Hotel Building, to the Arkham City Asylum.

In these epic battles of justice vs. Evil, every soldier, bat and joker, carry a primary, and secondary firearm, a gadget, and a support item. Support items, are weapons, or objects that can be thrown, or dropped, or worn (an armor). These could be anything from an impact grenade to a motion sensor to a boomerang, and energy drink. A gadget is usually the object that improves your locomotion during a match, like Batman's cape, grappling hook, bouncing shoes, and roller skates. Depending on your gameplay style, you might sacrifice locomotion for smoke bombs, or targeting goggles. There's also a large variety of rocket launchers, subs, rifles etc, to choose from. You can also equip your weapons with "mods" like, penetrator bullets, laser scopes, missiles, and more.

As you can see, there's a huge variety of killing tools to pick from, but here's the catch: Their all locked until you level up more. But, so what, right? Nearly all games in the history of the universe lock their content with "levels". Except, they unlock at such a slow rate, that you might just stop playing before you get to the really good stuff. Every time you level up, you get a Mod Unlock, Weapon unlocks, gadget unlocks, support item unlock, and body unlocks, and sometimes costume points (I'll get to that in a second). For every "unlock" card, you get a single item. Considering, that it'll take you hours, independent of your skill, to level up once, you won't unlock much at first. You could unlock the item right before you get it, but the really cool stuff is locked completely until you reach a certain level. The character classes available at the start, are pretty weak, compared, to what you can customise yourself, so you'll probably want to customize your own class, but find that your freedom is limited.

Customizing your character's looks, is a rare feature in FPS's, so it's definitely exciting to have that option in Gotham City imposters, in which you can customize, your bat costume, and joker costume. The "Secret Identity" part of the game is just as varied as the class customization, and it takes even longer to unlock anything. You get costume points by playing the game well- getting kills, dying less. I'm not sure how many you get, but you can bet that it's not many. Every costume item, costs you a certain number of costume points, let's say 400 points for a golden bat necklace. It takes you hours of gameplay, and dozens of kills to unlock anything at all. But don't worry the devs, give you a second option, in-case your aim isn't very good. You pay real-life money. Now you can get that necklace for $0.99 USD. Call me cheap, but in my opinion, asking for money, on a game you've already payed for, especially for something as insignificant as the appearance of your character on a FPS, is nothing but a money-grab.

Now to the gameplay! There's 3 modes you can pick from:
1. Psych Warfare: Your team, has to get a battery, and return it to their "MInd Control Machine". They get a point, for every time they do so. Most points- wins.
2. Fumigation: There's 3 gas machines , that the teams need to fight over. The team that owns the majority of them gains %, while the other loses. First tam to own 100% of the gas, wins.
3. Team deathmatch.
After you choose the mode, you move on to the matchmaking lobby, that randomnely puts you into the Bats, or Jokerz team. Matchmaking can be a bit slow at times, and surprisingly often crashes to the main screen. The shooting is pretty good, but not as good as most of the more mainstream shooters.. If your games dosn't crash it should take a decent amount of time, before it finishes. A campaign, with all the humour of the tutorial, and the catch phrases during the matches, wouldn't have done the game a wrong.

If you're going to buy this game, you should be ready to play it alot.
