When it comes to Guitar Hero/Rock Band games, you're more than likely burned out on the series. Though Rock Band 3 promises some new innovations it's hard to say if people will really buy into a game that teaches you instruments.

For now we just endure the various single band collections that come out and since neither Activision or Harmonix have gotten the rights to Led Zeppelin yet, we wade through looking for collections from bands we like. My husband got his "Guitar Hero: Metallica" and I got my wish of a Green Day collection. If you're a Green Day fan, then you'll enjoy it, if not then I suggest passing on it.

Green Day was smart in focusing on tracks from the CDs that sold the most primarily Dookie and American Idiot as well as most of the tracks from 20th Century Breakdown which is an ok album but I thought wasn't as good as Dookie or American Idiot and rounding out the set list with a few notable tracks from Nimrod, Warning and Insomniac so I doubt we'll see any DLC considering all the songs I like are on this disc and Green Day doesn't have a huge setlist as compared to the Beatles Rock Band.

Speaking of the Beatles I am really tired of everyone trying to compare this to Beatles Rock Band. It's a bit unfair to compare a decent punk rock/alternative band whose only been around since the early 90s to one of the most innovative and prolific bands ever.

You get three venues to choose from. For the Dookie album you get the band in a warehouse and Billy Joe Armstrong with blue hair and his stupid shirt and then you move on to the larger venue for American Idiot where they have their black/red look which I like best. Not much is available in terms of unlockables. You can look at band pictures and album art and special challenges unlock live performances.

All in all it's what you'd expect from a Green Day music compilation. It's fun and if you're a fan of the band, then it's worth it but if you're not a fan then keep waiting for the Led Zeppelin game.
