Do like Green Day? Do you like Rock Band/Guitar Hero? With an answer of yes to either, you should be considering this!
Well, I won't be whining about this game, it's top notch! And it's always good to start off a review with a song reference.
I'm a massive fan of the entire Rock Band/Guitar Hero series, and i'm also a fan of Green Day, so getting this was a certainty once I heard about its release. This game has a total of 47 songs in it, including the complete American Idiot and Dookie albums. There is also DLC to get the remainder of the songs off of the '21st Century Breakdown' album, which aren't in the original game. Absolutely love the selection of songs, but it comparison to games like Guitar Hero Metallica; which include songs from 'guest acts' to mix things up a bit, it can feel a bit same-ey. Especially considering the genre of music Green Day play. Nevertheless, incredibly enjoyable. The only other bad point I can think of would be the lack of venues.
Other than that, the graphics are of expected quality. Billie Joe, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool look fantastic. Gameplay is brilliant, the extra little live/behind the scenes videos are a good addition. Great game to just pick up and play for a few songs, or if you got buddies round to play a huge setlist together. If you're not a fan of Green Day, but are a fan of the musical rhythm games, i'd still give this game a shot, maybe a rental. Otherwise, should be an instant purchase!
